Does anyone have any successes with stretches or exercises?
My PFS has improved.
I was already stretching regularly (daily) for years, including the two stretches on the kaiser handout on the previous page I posted.
For just over a year I've been doing the hip strengthening exercises on page 2 of the kaiser handout and it's helped a lot. My knee isn't painful anymore unless I do a lot of hiking, etc. and when I do use it a lot it doesn't hurt as much, feels stronger, etc. The tendon still pops in and out of the track, but not as bad or as often.
A few months ago tennis elbow popped up (tendonitis), sheesh, getting older sucks. I just asked Santa for the tool on the previous page, I didn't see it before.

flexibility = strength!
I wish it was that simple. Flexibility, like muscular development must be balanced. This is not as easy as it seems. For example stretching hamstrings/calf is fairly straightforward, while stretching the hip flexors is not. But some balance between the two matters.
Even stretching the calf is not simple, there are two major muscles there which must be approached from different angles.
Also keep in mind,
Hypermobility = weakness and injury.

Couchmaster: Yeah, the knee issue isn't really impeding my climbing. It's the hiking.
I just deal with it. I am not good with doing PT and stuff like that. I lift weights a few times a week and try to climb on weekends. I feel discomfort and that puffy feeling in my knee when I am hiking downhill.
