Here's some 80's gold. Thanks to TheDogFather who sent me a DVD about 20 years ago.

Lots of Bachar soloing in Yosemite and Joshua Tree, Ron Kauk, Jerry Moffat, Henry Barber, Bev Johnson, Werner Braun--the heroes of the 80's!

I knew many episodes from my original dvd were split off but didn't know the entire dvd was uploaded as one video. I also have the best cycling video ever, and old Paris Roubaix with great music, mud, crashes, and amazing commentary. If I find it I will post up. I haven't been active on ST much since I sustained a spinal cord injury in a gym fall 3 years ago and have been slowly getting back into climbing, 2 number grades below where I was. Fun to return and see this. It was nice to give a copy to Bachar since he had lost the originals in a fire and his son hadn't watched them yet. Got a pair of Acopas for it.

Bump.
Because it's all fun and some real edge-of-the-armchair viewing, including Hot Henry in Great Britain, soloing.
deuce4, it's kind of you to share the memories.

Hard to believe it's been 9 years since you sent me a copy of that dvd, Dogfather. Thank you again for that kind gesture and the ability to watch my friend John.
Actually it has been 12 and a half years. YouTube was quite new back then and videos were limited to 10 minutes in length. A DVD sent via snail mail was the only realistic option.
Here's the original thread for reference:

-and a followup thread:
http://www.supertopo.com/climbers-forum/176883/Bachar-werner-dvd
(both threads contain posts from John Bachar)
Thanks again Dogfather for putting this footage together! Sorry to hear about your accident; glad to hear you're doing better.

I would love to see this if you are able to upload to YouTube. What year was it? I had a nice collection of cycling videos on VHS from when they first started coming out around 1987 (with Phil Liggett commentary). Lost track of them a long time ago.
