so, should be big this year. meet at red bud picnic area at ten am, and launch at 11, after shuttle and scouting. this a solid class four section for advanced boaters only, although there may be some room for beginners in a raft or cataraft. more timid boater are welcome to join us at the swinging bridge around 2:30pm. gage hole by 420, briceburg by 6pm.
if it is waaaaay big we may start lower at cedar lodge or south fork

swilliam...can you come again with the cataraft
hj...i know its a long ways, but it will be so fun
i hope all the ladies from last year can make it, as well as robbie.
wish stanley could make it

Steve, if you are in South Bay Area this weekend, you would be welcome to join my kids and I heading down Arroyo Seco out of Soledad. Hiking/scrambling/tubing/swimming/cliff jumping- full day Sunday.
Class IV is too much for kids and me on Merced, and I won't be around then, or I would have loved to tag along.

Great run!! I haven't boated whitewater in a kayak since 2003 with Stanley. I think I'd be a fish out of water at this point. Have fun!

I'm not much of one either munge, anymore. But I'm in the market for a good used boat if anyone has one to sell. It's been about 20 years since I did that stretch of the Merced.

I've been thinking of cutting one of mine loose.
But it'll be a bucket boat. I have a 14ft Avon Adventurer + 16ft Avon Pro.
Drop me a note if you're interested and I'll think more seriously about it.
Probably with a bunch of gear. You could pick up right where you left off...from 20 years ago:-)
Still overseas steve for the next 2 weeks otherwise I'd love to join the fun! Sounds like a good time

Well thanks Delhi Dog, but I'm looking for a kayak. My last one was a Hydra Matador, so anything will be an upgrade compared to that dinosaur.

river day canceled. i just looked at nightmare island and it was ugly. no eddies, big holes on river left, and...i'm just not feeling it. i think i will just do a park and play on a wave train, steve sorry to anybody that planned to show up
