I was REALLY saddened to hear this, particularly given he took his own life. Every interview I ever heard with him, he was a card. I hope his friends and family find peace.

yeah... fUck.
don't know if i've ever shed a tear or two over someone's passing, that i had never met.
guess there is a first for everything.
cuts me up inside that a human with a voice and creativity that brought so much beauty and solace to so many, ended up going out like he did.
r.i.p. you beautiful soul.
thanks for the albums. thanks for the couple shows i got to go to. but in general, thanks for being deeply alive and human.

The first time I heard Chris' voice left an impression. Flower is still one of my favorite SG songs.
His later acoustic solo tours were simply incredible.

Soundgarden was on heavy rotation in my Walkman when I was in high school. Never got to see them live though, and after Badmotorfinger I lost interest.

Apparently, it was Ativan (generic: lorazepam) that was fatal.
Xanax (generic: alprazolam) is more famous.
Those Benzos are no joke.
All those anti-anxiety drugs are dangerous, and addictive.
Here, where I live, there is someone whom I care about, who acts out, and who is possibly taking benzo medication, to the detriment to both of us.
Neither wins. Both lose.

Randisi,I believe Tom described it well ,those anti anxiety drugs are no joke. Ativan is just Valium light. Highly addictive. The medical community has to recognize the importance of marijuana's compounds that fight ,anxiety,depression and a host of pain related ailments.
With very few side effects!
This "class" of Prescribed drugs are as dangerous as Street drugs and they have legal marketing behind them. Doctors are wooed to use them.
And ,I am saying that if anti anxiety CBD had been prescribed for anxiety issues ,he would have been here today.
