My buddy Llamero, aka TWP or Terry, planned his trip to Minden to climb with me for a few days starting April 11th. But, as the storm approached, we changed our plans to skiing.
Skiing on Tuesday at Kirkwood was not great, but still OK. Some ice, some wet snow, but also nice pockets of blown in snow on The Wall. Old Llamero tackled it all, no problemo!

Wednesday's forecast was calling for strong winds, so we decided to go climbing after all.

Local crag, Dino Rock, was the only sensible place to go within one hour driving radius. Only 15 min drive from Minden, in Carson City, behind Costco.

In spite of the wind, we climbed a few times, but eventually had enough of the wind.

Llamero had no problem on this 5.10 face.

The night brought some snow, and the temperature dropped. Let's go to Kirkwood! We were planing to meet with Footie, Scott, LucyPink, and friends. Woot woot!

Well, Carson Spur got closed, so no LuckyPink and her friends (work got in the way too). But, Footie and Scott got there, so off we went to Kirkwood! But, surprise, surprise, they closed Carson pass too. We were late 30 min to go through. The car line was over 2 miles long.

I have to admit, I was pissed, but it was still quite early, so I turned arround and went to Heavenly. Terry was sleeping in the back of the car and didn't give a sh!t.

Turned out we were lucky. Heavenly got 10" of light powder and the Nevada side was fully opened. Just another powder day this season (38th for me).

Well, Llamero haven't had a chance to ski powder for a few years, or a steep terrain for that meter. But, he was persistent and wouldn't give up!

Good job, Terry!

But, I think he got mad at me. Or, maybe had just impersonated Henchbeck of Notre Dame.

It started snowing heavily, the visibility got even worse, so we quite about 3:30. Still, a lot of work skiing powder in the chutes and between the trees.

Then, Friday was The Day! More powder, sunny, no wind. And, we finnaly got together with Footie and Scott.

Llamero found his groove!

We skied till they closed. All day fresh tracks! Undeliverable, mid April!

Thank you guys for skiing with me, and, Llamero, you are one tough guy!

TWP does all right being practically blind. And he's a prince, one very friendly person. Too bad you couldn't do more climbing.

Hey, no love for Llamero? Or should I call him, Moosero?

The old Llamero skis too?

Well, he is cold-tolerant. We were freezing our asses off on a cold June night at City of Rocks a few years back, while he told stories in his levi jacket.
