Gary, the ranger at the Hovenweep vis center confirmed Prairie. 😀 I thought it odd that she only has 4 or 5 buttons yet she is a good 28". She was initially pissy but calmed down quickly. This was my iPhone parting shot.
While I was lying in front of her cozying up within a couple feet with the Nikon I heard some hillbilly yell out
"THEY CAN STRIKE 6 FEET! MY MONEY IS ON THE SNAKE!"
"OK, Homer, thanks for that!"
Just missed seeing one of their rare midget Westerns. 😫
Got some killer shots of a Collared lizard who let me get within a couple feet, too.

More good news, the rivers are on the rise: San Rafael River through the Swell is now up to boatable flows, and the S. Platte thru Denver has been flirting with being boatable for the past week. WOOT!

Reilly, that reminds me. Check this dude out. He showed up at some friends patio in Aus while we were hanging. Came for a visit. Apparently he shows up a couple times a week checking in on the grapes and banana stash.

^^^^^^According to what I read under Tennesse law it would have been legal for the girl to take off with the guy, as long as it was voluntary. Maybe they can revive the Mann Act and go after him with that. They did it to Chuck Berry
