It was released 17 March, 1967. One of those before and after points in musical history, I would say.

50 years! That's hard to believe. I saw Jimi live in 68 or 69. 50 years? Fuk I'm old.

I caught him in '68 and again in '70 a few months before he died. Snuck into that one, didn't have the $3.75. Big difference in the shows. The early show was a quickie, playing the Are You Experienced hits, burning the guitar etc., while the '70 show was much longer with his new band.

So him in his home town. He was pumped! Walked out into a raging thunderstorm, which was
rare in Seattle, and everyone was saying: "Jimi did it, man!" LOL!

I met Jimi Hendrix in the Oakland coliseum coming out of his dressing room.

He was the man at the crossroads according to the Time and circumstance that day.

The security was chasing us.

I asked him; "Which way is the exit" (escape).

He said; "That a way, as he pointed.

And thus we made our get-a-way .......

Well my ex-wife probably takes this one. She was dating Mitch Mitchell and hung out with the band at their motel room down in Monterey. That's how I know what flavor of gum he preferred. I swore to never tell.

Jimmy left us way way too soon. The rock 'n roll world has had way too many of its younger talents harvested by the Grim Reaper early, but Jimmy and SRV are the two I personally miss the most. RIP guys, you surely gave more than you got.

In looking around, I noticed that some very good stuff I put up links to has been removed from utube.

That is why I always keep a copy or sometimes two of the good stuff.

Jimi was awesome and a true original--a game changer for sure. I'm a bigger fan of Stevie Ray's playing, however. There was such a liquid smoothness to his playing. RIP to both!

Anyone done Purple Haze (10d trad) up at the Leap? Always seemed too tuff for me, but what a line.

Lame if I'm not here to DISAMBIGUATE !

EDIT : zBrown ! Has done a good job of sending me down a rabbit hole then deleted two words ?

Alembic, then I responded, "Sound" !?

( that dint take long ) from the Haight Ashbury?

O?. .( Bear) . Nah there's already a thread. . .

At this point deletions were occurring

Seems this was high on the search engine tonight?

The word Alchemy was posted leading to some Friday night jibber jabber.

More than would be expected from the individuals,
its Seperate parts when mixed, with care and planning the exponential addition
Of multitudes leading to
the conflagration, contained, aimed like a cannon, then it's energy
narrows to a lazer point and explodes into the cosmos.

In all things that change and amplify energy like music and climbing in a tangible way;
Physically, the mundane transmutes, becomes a bigger thing . . .

Alchemy

is technically only one word

Alembic Inc. would count as two.

Not quite 50. Right about the time Jimi was dying Alembic Inc. was being born.

Not Noel Redding.

Mitch could play drums and chew gum at the same time?
