In his own vernacular, Kai is an excellent speaker on the personal moral/ethical responsibility of the individual.
Defending against predatory initiation of violence seems to me to be a good thing. I am going to forward a link to that video to someone at the Innocence Project. I imagine they already know about it, but I can nudge.
You know, I've picked up many young hitchhikers. Many of them climbers (all right, so I have a soft spot for climbers) and all of them lovely people. My last trip down the AlCan, I ferried a Swiss climber from Muncho Lake to Fort Nelson so he could have a part for his (rather junker) car flown in. His parents are the two doctors in their small Swiss town. Great young man, reminded me of my older grandson.

(edit) I just watched that second video. Seems like a terrible situation and not one worth joking about. The original video of Kai and his exploits was viral around here. If he really killed somebody later its a terrible situation and I hope the truth is revealed amongst all the internet silliness.

As still a non local, does Kai mean Fresno when he says Dogtown?? Like Fresno St. Bulldogs? Or is it a different place?

Vitaliy "Dogtown" is the Santa Monica/Venice area that is known as the heart and soul and spiritual birthplace of skateboarding back in the 1970s.
A must watch. Especially for poseurs like yourself. Its so full of skater jargon and trendy vocab that you'll have a whole new lingo at your next indoor bouldering sesh. And by the way, WELCOME TO VISALIA!!! Looking forward to bringing you alongside the Frestown Posse.

Kai said he struck Galfy in self defense and then bolted. He said he did not learn of the lawyer’s death, who died of blunt force trauma, until after he was arrested.
“Do I feel bad that he’s dead? It’s a human life, [so] I mean yeah,” Kai said in our conversation at the end of June. “Do I feel bad that he raped me? I feel embarrassed, like I think it’s disgusting. I feel all sorts of emotions and stuff that I wouldn’t wish on anyone else.”
Authorities have cast the incident in a different light. Following Kai’s arrest on May 16, then-Union County Prosecutor Theodore Romankow told reporters that Galfy’s death “was thought out.” Romankow also described Kai’s claims of being drugged and raped as “pretty much self-serving,” though the prosecutor did say that the encounter between Galfy and Kai appeared sexual in nature.

wow not sure what to say about that video, biotch. That was very close. As far as the last question in the video, IMI his life and his risk(s) to take. If others look at it, think "RAD I WANNA DO THAT" and die, that is their choice...humans do stupid sh#t. Some of it is very obvious, like when you record jumping off a cliff and nearly hit rocks and some of it less obvious or never talked about, yet risky and unnecessary. Everyone gets to make own choices when they wake up every morning. Not all choices would be approved by other people.

After something like this he should be taken into the police department and see a psychiatrist, not give interviews.

Vitaliy, to clear up any misunderstanding, Kai did NOT kill the driver in Fresno, who hit the PG&E worker with his car. Kai used the BLUNT end of the hatchet and the driver not seriously injured.
The driver, Jett McBride, was eventually found insane in court for the attack.
