Bowie slumbers alongside I-10 in SE Arizona. Time has passed it by, but it called out to Heidi for some drive-by shooting, on a blustery afternoon this week.
That was good for me, since I didn't want to visit with any proud property owners.

Thanks, old bean. (My camera's batteries were run down and I was using a cam of hooblie's.) That shot was looking the other direction from the Booneville International Airport and the birds were DIRECTLY IN THE FLIGHT PATH, so there was some risk involved to get it.
I still say you're the best getaway driver I've ever rode with, too. You'd have done well as a bush pilot.

Jim & Angela Donini & I discovered the ghost farming town of Flora on Thursday after floating the Grand Ronde river. We first enjoyed a 16 mile series of steep gravel road switchbacks up to Flora & the Wallowa plateau.
Flora reposes gracefully in a remote area of NE Oregon. The community was named after the daughter of the first postmaster, A. D. Buzzard. The Flora post office operated from 1890–1966. By 1910, it had a population of 200 residents and an eight-room school. It is considered "the most substantial town to fail" in the Northeast Oregon region
Donini took the last 2 photos, as we cruised the dusty streets of Flora.

Downtown Gold Hill. I didn't hear banjos, but two shirtless locals were staring at me from their porches, when I drove through town. I waved at one, but he just glared at me.

Yesterday morning there was a mobile active shooter in downtown SLC.
One of the incidents was in the parking lot of the hotel where my nephew stays regularly.
A running gun battle with police ended when he crashed.
I saw bystander cell phone video when 15 cops opened fire. Must've been 80-90 rounds in 4-5 seconds!
Shooter dead.
