Yes, I really liked that FGW shot, the forms and perspective are great.

fgw posts the most holy-shit level photos on this site, generally from some remote corner of the world - here's another of hers/his, from this thread: http://www.supertopo.com/climbing/thread.php?topic_id=2952610&tn=0&mr=0

Not the best ever, but interesting and perhaps a bit different.

I like this one that le_bruce took when we wrastled a Tyrolean traverse on Run Ribbon Arete about 10 years ago:

This shot of Rodman is one of my favorite - note cowboy hat on the ground.

Great & grand photos folks. Thanks for taking the time to share them.

Somehow, I've missed posting on this thread, but it is tough to decide just what kind of climbing photo is the best I've ever taken?

Is it a slogging up to the route, that is likely going to be out of condition, photo?

Is it a closeup historic photo of a friend on a classic route?

Is it a classic summit shot?

Or a photo of someone having a bad morning, high on a peak in Alaska?

Dammed if I know.

Whenever one reaches the top summit and then has to descend it is NOT yet the real summit .....

Nice choices, Fritz.
Define "best."

For that matter, define "summit."

“Best” - something at least visually appealing for a change?

You got it right Anita, don't get hung up on "best" but post something worth looking at. I loved that NutAgain shot of the Tyrolean set up, the action tells a story.

Nowadays my 'best' is the one that's still fresh in my mind.. and still stored on my phone ;)
