Been re-reading Messner's Free Spirit. In one chapter he writes of his first ascent of the Breach Wall and it's infamous--now gone?--icicle, an ascent shortly after the Barber/Roberts nightmare. Was there ever a second ascent? More? Messner and his partner both said never again. A true shooting gallery horror show. Now that the glacier is no more, I figure there isn't enough run-off to fuel the ice hose.
