Their regular season game is usually pretty good, but their playoff game is turrible...

"Now pitching for the White Sox, batting ninth - Aaron Bummer."

The A's have a guy in the system named Dustin Hurlbutt...

He pitched his ass off last night.

If the Dodgers can't win with Kershaw they are indeed in trouble. From threatening the all time win record to a complete collapse...that's baseball.

Hottest team in baseball is Cleveland. T Hocking....the National League is catching up a bit in Inter league play, only down 15 games this year. The National League has been pummeled every year since inter league play began.

Edit: Interleague play started in 1997 but American League dominance began in 2004. In 2006 the American League won 154 games the National League 98.

Watching pitchers swing at a baseball thrown by their peers is as exciting as synchronized swimming.
Interesting stat: winning percentage in Interleague Play since it's inception... Chicago Cubs .460, Angels .577.

Still gone. Not much baseball coverage over here. Dodgers tanking Cubs holding on and the ultimate choke artists washington clinched. Thats my feed right now

Let's hear it for Aaron Judge and the Cleveland Indians! Aaron has a great shot at breaking the all time record for strikeouts in a single season and the Indians are closing in on the longest winning streak in baseball history.

The Indians have been around for 116 years but Aaron is close to achieving immortality in his very first full season.

Isn't Judge the kind of Yankee you most admire, Jim?

And huge congrats to the Indians.

W21 looks pretty amazing in the streak column.

Indians are not bad.

I am looking forward to a Cleveland-Houston AL series.

NL West is interesting with Colorado and Arizona in a dogfight for runner-up to the Dodgers. All three teams from this division could make it to the postseason.

Twins are punching above their weight in Minnesota.

Grew up a Doyers fan, but haven't been since the 70s.

For the 13th consecutive year the American League has prevailed in Interleague play. There is no better measure (given the number of games played) of superiority.

interesting stat Jimbo. What does that say about the DH? You'd think it wouldn't matter 'cause when American League teams play in National League parks they can't use their DH, but the NL teams get to use a DH when in AL parks. You'd probably have to look at how AL teams structure their rosters. They carry a DH who is supposed to be a very good hitter, but NL teams have only backup players beyond their normal 8 starters, so when NL teams get to use a DH they have to pick that player from their non-starters. I think the advantage goes to the AL teams in that case. Maybe the records are more even in inter-league games played in NL parks???

EDIT: thanks Jim, figured someone in the know has thought this thing through better than I

Little Z...there is an interesting article on ESPN that debunks the role of the DH in the disparity between the AL and NL in Interleague play.

You can look it up on this thread, at the start of the season I said their bullpen sucked and they are proving me right, aren't they?

I have had little regard for the Dodgers ever since they slunk out of Brooklyn in the middle of the night. Sports are a nice, convient and safe place to harbor that time tested human failing...holding a grudge.
May their WS hpoes die a quick death!
