Keepin' classic rock alive... first gig last week with this new permutation of the band, and they want to bring us back on a busy Saturday. Woohoo!

We finally got around to configuring our tv for Netflix streaming last year, and have been working our way through all the rock documentaries.
Loved "the wrecking crew", one about hendrix, one about ginger baker...
Many others with great classic rock.

Phylp, check out the "Muscle Shoals" video and "Soul of America" about Charles Bradley. I love this film genre too.

Hooblie & Hocking, while our band may be standing in the same spot as the giants, we are not in the same league! At my/our level of playing, it's really hard to keep a group of folks together and keep refining the sound until it honestly sounds good. Something always happens to blow it up- personality issues, incompatible aspirations and ability and time dedication, someone moves away, etc. I'd say another couple of months with this group and I'll be relaxed and really happy with how things are sounding, if we can keep it together.
There is a big gap between folks getting a band together for weekly sessions and keeping it together long enough to sound good, versus people who are real pros and put in the work and can walk into any situation and just shine from the beginning with a random set of other good musicians. But as long as we're having fun, that's the main point from my perspective!

Classic Rock Russian style
Kino "Gruppa Krovi" It means blood type. Russian soldiers in Afghanistan had their blood types on their uniform sleeve.
Here it is with English lyrics. the music is haunting.

Thanks for the thread Marlow. I really enjoy a lot of the obscurities as they seem to be the inklings of a lot of modern music genres.
From the beginnings of Progressive Rock, I bring you Tull.
