Thanks for sharing Conrad. Sorry to hear about that.

I regretfully moved up the two guys from Mt. Hood. Jerry Cooke and Brian Hall

What do you guys think of adding a photo next to the name of each of these so they aren't just names on a list, but reflect the character of our friends and brothers? Perhaps you can edit your posts to include photos?

Addendum on Hari Berger:

His wife is no longer expecting. Hari and Kirsten's daughter, Zoe, was born last night after Hari's death.
The cycle of life continues... thankfully.

a.s. -- thanks for posting those photos of Dan. He & I climbed together in Ouray quite a bit, when we both lived there, '98 & '99. I hadn't heard of him in years, though we seem to be following somewhat similar paths... and the news from J Tree last January hit hard.

Brutal. So much good that would have been both in the mountains and the hearts and minds of their friends and families lost. But ask yourself this did the thought of giving up the game ever cross your mind while making your way down the list? I’d venture to say most who died didn’t either when they encountered these lists and saw people they knew. I hope they took the time to truly envision the possibility of their demise and decided to reach for the next hold anyway. It seems to me that if you can do that your precious last seconds are filled with thoughts of love and joy not regret and fear. Maybe that kind of regret is worse than death. In my ears I hear Jim Carroll screaming “those are people who have died, died they’re all my friends why did they have to die”?

Sorry, death makes me wax poetic. James Kim-nice touch. Btw.

Ugh, this sucks. Important to try to keep your eye on the good stuff, not the bad; find their presence in your life, even though they may be absent.

Thanks for listing my bud "Jimmy Ray". Could you put his last name on there too? It's "Forester"

Jimmy climbed in Yosemite many times (he did 14 El Cap routes). He died on the day after Thanksgiving while free soloing a route at El Potrero.

Seems unlikely that we'll see such a devastating year for climbing for a long time.

Erica Kutcher's death was actually in July of 2005 Jerry, not 2006. Just a heads up. I did a number of climbs in 2006 with her glowing smile still etched in my head. She'll never be forgotten.

Unfortunately, I still know people on this list for 2006. Burke was awesome. Many a fun day putzing around doing FA's with him, Todd, Tucker and the crew. I miss the guy.

Hope 2007 brings a much smaller list of those not sharing the rock anymore.

P.J.O'Connell ~ RIP March 23rd, 2006 ~ While riding his bike.

An wonderfully impressive and caring individual to his wife Carolyn; his children, Kathleen - Ellen - Mike - Dan - Joe & Shannon; his friends to numorous to mention; and his climbing companions in the Sierra C3 Club and the Arizona Mountaineering Club.

P.J. - I'm even more impressed to discover you were 70-something -- I figured 50...possibly. We will all miss you but thank you for leaving us such an inspiration of strength behind.

RIP P.J. ~ God Speed ~

Raleigh Raleigh

I received a call from a beach and sailing day’s friend. Had not seen her for years, so I was even more surprised when the reason she called was Raleigh landed in her Palm Springs Pool. I did not know that Raleigh after the film gig on EL Cap started hang gliding and base jumping

That brings us to sixty two for 2006. Erica was '05 but I'm leaving her there. Is this the entire list? Trying to keep it to the climbing community.
