Why don't they make the wildlife bridge on the 101 wide enough for a lion trap? Problem solved people.
What would make more sense to me is if we let wild land fuels build up for fifty more years.
Cats can run from the firestorm, homes can't.
Meanwhile, over the past fifty years, urban planners will have made urban centers desirable for families, with open spaces and sh#t.
Then, after the firestorms, people will gradually migrate back to the city centers, leaving the cats with more space.
There, two solutions. You're welcome.

The Basque sheepherders on the eastside use donkeys..Donkeys also keep ravens away ...My neighbor had a great pyrhenee to protect his llama herd...Never lost any llamas...Recently a big cat mauled the neighbors dog then killed a llama.. A neighbor got a permit and shot the cat...Next night the other llama got whacked...Neighbor got another permit and bagged the 2nd lion...
