I keep looking, but as yet cannot find an overwhelming showing that businesses are considerably more efficient than government departments

Robert L, you seem pretty reasonable but I got a chuckle out of that comment.
Yes, big corporations are basically bureaucracie but that is where the
similarities stop. Businesses are increasingly mandated to be efficient
and produce a product or service AT A PROFIT for their stockholders. If
they don't they go under. If you work at a company and you don't produce
you go under. That doesn't happen in gubmint or, for that matter, at
businesses in Europe. I get the drift that you were in the military.
If so then you know full well that you don't make O-6 and above by being
the most productive or sharpest pencil in the office. Unless you screw up
it is pretty much a matter of putting yer time in. The military is far more
results oriented than gubmint in general but you have to agree with me to a
certain extent. As a side note the military is becoming more like other
branches of gubmint in that the numbers of O-7+ are drastically increasing
in proportion to the number of troops, ships, or aircraft. That is just
more bureaucracy and dead wood.

They privatized profits and socialized losses, I think Robert L is right on.

Obama only had four years of federal experience when he ran.

And look at what he ran into. I think if he had a chance to create personal relationships with more GOP'ers, it would have gone better.

Bob, how does one "socialize losses"? I'll have to ask my CPA about that
new accounting rule. If a company loses money it will be reflected in their
stock price toute de suite and that can't go on for very long without major
changes either for the better or the worse.

And don't start in about gubmint bailouts. There are many thousands of
companies in this country and how many have gotten gubmint bailouts,
a dozen or so? And, don't forget, plenty of Democrates voted for those
bailouts.

Mammoth Mt. is a good example of a government bailout...The Mountain does land trades with the Forest Service where Mammoth Mt. gives the Forest Service a useless piece of property and ends up with a piece of prime real estate that just belonged to the public...The county and town chip in thousands every year to buy seats on Alaska Air to have them fly into mammoth with the idea that TOT taxes will make their way back into government coffers.. The county provides social services for the locals and some of those locals work for Mammoth Mt.. The county paramedic program in Mammoth spends more time rescuing injured skiers than anyone else in Mammoth...In return Mammth Mt. pays sh#t wages and boasts that there's always another person ready to take the place of one that quits...

Reilly, I had read that piece on the brass inflation, and it is good.

I don't think any progress has been made, at all.

Reilly, if your CPA has no clue you might want to shop for one who is better versed in corporate welfare.

You can always find out for yourself.

And to think, you accused me of being an internet tough guy even though I've made no such claim.

Maybe you did grow up tough but its not my fault that's the only thing you are bringing to the conversation.

Shouldn't you be at a Hillary recount rally with Norton?

Speaking of Norton, maybe someone can get him to tell us again how Trump isn't "vetted" and has no chance of getting to 370? Cuz that never get's old.

Speaking of the Carrier deal

We all knew trump was a conman, but he is one dumb sonofabitch as well.

Esco...

A voice in the wilderness, countering all the Trump haters.

I wonder if all the Trump bashers, especially in the MSM, realize they may be giving Trump all the ammunition he'll need to get re-elected. If he just does a mediocre job... avoids major screwups, then he can base his campaign on contrasting his results to all the haters' predictions. It's worked so far.

Trump has been fully vetted, everything is pretty much known about him except his tax returns.

Therefore many people feel quite secure in knowing how he "thinks and believes"

and don't have to wait to see what happens to know what is going to happen

Trump will have a very willing Congress with his fellow Republicans in control of both the House and Senate.

He will be able to do pretty much anything he, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell want to do

So let's get on with it!

Start by repealing the ACA please, let's see what happens when 25 million lose their healthcare and hundreds of thousands lose their jobs in the healthcare industry.

by all means appoint only Supreme Court Justices who will overthrow Roe V Wade!
Lets force women who are raped to give birth because they will just love the infant!

Lets give another massive tax cut to the 1% and lets increase the debt by greatly expanding defense spending!

Privatize Medicare, give em a "voucher" to buy health insurance from the for maximum profit private insures because repealing the ACA will increase their profits even more!

Repeal Dodd-Frank Financial regulation, lets have another Republican Recession like in 07-09!

It is time to let America experience exactly what they voted for - Republicans in charge
