On September 9th, I was able to make the first free ascent of a new direct direct finish to Gorillas in the Mist on the West Face Wall of Mt Stuart. While my ascent merely added two pitches onto the Gorillas Direct route that I FA'd in 2010 with Mark Westman and Jens Holsten, this ascent stands as one of the most meaningful in my 15 years of rock and mountain climbing.

Below is a link to my blog where I describe the multiple ascents and failures it took for me to put up this line over a 7 year period.

We did not go to the summit! In many alpinists book (including mine) this first ascent is not complete.

BUMP and my first post was a joke (likely not very good one as usual), hopefully that is understood :)
