Ahoy, Tacos:

I'm 6'4"; BAd Wife is 5'3". I'm looking for a gear sling that can quickly be adjusted for two very different body sizes. I'd like to have one with loops on both sides with each side having sub-loops to keep gear in place. But the dang thing must be quickly and widely adjustable. I've done some searching online but nothing so far. When we do multi-pitch trad, it would be great to just hand over the rack as with my burly buds. Any ideas? I'm thinking of trying to get Fish to custom make a rig.

Maybe just get two.
And also, I hate sub loops.

Metolius has some models. I've never tried them, though.

Still using an old pataguchi GPIW or whatever one.

I have a padded gear sling but more often than not I just use a 9/16 nylon runner or even a dyneema one (but those are pretty uncomfortable.

I would just buy 1" tubular webbing and tie it with a water knot such that it is the right length for you, along with 2 small loops that can be clipped with a biner to shorten it up for your wife.

Maybe for extra convenience, sew half of it closed (to be like 1/2" webbing) so the gear clips and slides along it more easily. I find the separate gear loops to be a major hassle that spreads gear too much, causes more cluster-fvcks when you have to shift it around or squeeze through a constriction.

I think we've got a version of the Metolius. The buckle is a pain in the butt, and it doesn't get long enough for my manly torso. I think it's made to full runner strength, which we don't need. I had an old Frog (I think) gear sling that had a tightly sewn prussik as the attachment point. That was pretty cool--just yoink!--and it's as long or short as you needed. The wife is keen on the sub-loops, but maybe I can sell her on something else. I want to get to the belay, pull the sling, zip to length and hand it over. I'm currently using an older version of the Zodic:

But it's not adjustable. Ideally, I'd like this in a quick-adjust version.
