I have 3 days off when we are in Los Angeles (7-9 of Nov) and thinking to go to joshua tree park and maybe getting a trad class, any recommendations on this ?

When I have climbed Cathedral with my wife, I always set up an anchor near the notch I believe and lower her off with my 70m rope. She then pulls the rope down and I clean the anchor and scramble down the descent. I think its pretty easy, much less scary than descending the summit to the notch.

Scouz ...
there was a snowstorm / precip this weekend. just so you know its likely the 120 will re-open once the snow has melted and we have some warm weeks... but not a given. So i wouldn't fully write it off yet...
but yeah, if you are via LA, i prefer tahquitz to jtree for trad. alternatively you can clip bolts in the santa monicas at echo cliffs.. but as you go up to the sierra, on the west dome rock and the needles will be much warmer than the high sierra... and lone pine peak / whitney portal area has great granite. if you want to go further up bishop / the buttermilks and the happies will probably be a good/fun bet if you like to boulder.
Im of the belief that the sierras only getting dryer and warmer... so season usually extends a little more thab people are used to on each side of winter. have fun on your trip!!
