Saw the post about 'Bullfighting' etc. etc.
My fertile brain has been thinking about new extreme sports for some time and I've come up with a couple:
1) High voltage power line zip-lining: Imagine a zip-line trolley device that could be put on the 500k volt power lines that hang down through valleys. Climb up and attach the trolley, then zip line down those big arcs and, after coming to a stop, rappel to the ground. Pull a release line and jump the trolley off the high voltage line. Simple, quick, and extremely dangerous. Probably best not to do during rainy season.
2) Lava surfing: Some sort of high temperature surfboard/raft that one could surf down the lava streams of Hawaii. The brave ones would go underground through the lava tubes and emerge, victorious, at the other end. Asbestos probably required. Points added for style.

Ok, how about inverse base jumping... get in a metal sphere with high buoyancy, get pulled down 2000+ feet under the ocean, and quick release to fly toward the surface, maybe bounce fully airborn for a sec before settling on the surface.
Space rappelling. I mean rappelling. From space. Geosync orbit, fancy thin strong material for the cord... probably would need something better than an ATC. And a parachute and some O's.
Helium balloons tied to a chaise lounge, trans-oceanic travelling on wind currents. BB gun to land. Maybe bring some spare balloons and a helium tank.
Naked oil boa wrestling. In a big pit. With lots of 'em.

Arguing against the political majority on the taco. Seriously dangerous to ones reputation. Likely to split a gasket from the irreconcilable rage of trying to correct the intardnet. Like, a genuine possibility of real physical and emotional traumatic injury here.

Not likely, first off, to have a cable suspended to the geosynchronous point you need a cable several times longer(90,000 miles? ) with a big counterweight on it to hold the cable up. The center of mass of the system has to remain well above the geosynchronous point.
Since the longest carbon nanotube produced so far ( strongest thing we know) is about a meter in length, that's unlikely.
Secondly is the physics of the rappel. If you start at the geosynchronous point, gravity doesn't move you towards Earth. You'd be just another satellite in geo orbit. If you are further away on the cable, you would move away from Earth, and if you are only slightly closer, it might take weeks or months to fall to Earth. Unless you think it'd be fun to watch a frozen popsicle as an extreme sport, I'm guessing there are no tv opportunities.
As an aside, I once was on a team that competed in the Robogames in a space elevator simulation contest. It was basically to see who could climb a ribbon cable fastest with a 1kg robot using only remote power. We have a very long way to go.

Fifty years ago Dave Rearick and I imagined an Olympic event as we practiced pressing to handstands on a cement slab in the Climbers' Campground in the Tetons: There is a tower, like the high-diving tower, that has platforms above the cement pad every five feet. The athlete starts at the five foot level and jumps. If he is able to walk or crawl off the pad under his own power in ten seconds he may proceed to the next level. His score is the highest level attained in this manner. In case of a tie the athlete who is able to leave the hospital first under his own power wins.

Chainsaw powered ice skating.
Squat low, start the chain on the ice at a low speed to get some pull. You have to really feather it so you don't dig in, but on good ice with the right chain, you can rip. 3 laps around, first one to finish without drawing blood wins.
