My name that I use "Peater" was because my climbing partner wrote in his guide book who he did each route with. He figured "Peat" moss was how you spelled Peter.

Bulwinkle used to show up at Stony wearing a brown knit hat. It made his hair stick out sideways to look like moose antlers. So I called him Bulwinkle the moose. I think there was a 70ish cartoon called Rocky and Bulwinkle or something like that. Rocky was a squirrel.

What's your story?

I had a friend, that put heavy trash cans into the back of a garbage truck all day for work. This was before what they do now. He had muscles you would not believe. We called him the Troll and said he must have muscles in his sh%t. Well he was strong but he could not climb.

Fish, another friend (not Russ the real Fish, though I do know him) could do 50 presses on the parallel bars but could also not climb anything.

Never knew their real names.

It's Clink. A hiker heard us hand drilling a new route. Going along the Balconies cave trail he said the sound went "... clink, clink, clink." We were in our teens, in the early eighties.
