Hi, my name is Emma,
I'm from Barcelona (Spain) and I'm really new in this country. Now I'm living in San Francisco. I arrived two weeks ago and I don't know anybody that it likes rockclimbing in the mountain.
I want to meet people that share this hobby and wants to go climbing.
If anyone is interested we can be contacted. :)

Thank you!
Emma.

Emma - we are the men of Supertopo, all talk, no climb (except for that Vitaly guy, who probably thinks he is on Mountain Project)

Go to Planet Granite climbing gym in SF... look for people who are climbing the cracks and not wearing tape. Look for people with scars or better yet fresh scabs on their shoulder blades, or on the back of their arms just above the elbows.

Tell them you are looking for partners to climb in Yosemite and to explore the Sierra Nevada.

I would suggest climbing gyms in the Bay area as well.

If you go to the climbing gym you will easily meet people who climb outdoors also. I climb mostly in the gym in Sunnyvale but sometimes go outside with my boyfriend and groups through meetups and other gatherings. Everyone is very friendly. Good luck!

Take all of this under advisement. Here on ST we use more walkers than cams.

Back in the 70's a friend working for the state department was posted to Madrid. She said climbers in Spain are absolutely wild and immensely funny. The US will probably be a little boring for you. But give it a try.

Agree, but make sure you get a good idea of their skills on real rock if that is your intended place to climb. Gyms typically have some prancers the don't have the skills for real rock, especially multi pitch routes.

Cheers!
