best quote so far to describe what happened
Well ... old, fat racist white America got really really pissed off that it's not 1950 anymore, so they blew it all up.

You're right on the Electoral College, of course, but given this may well be the 2nd time in 16 yrs that the winner of the popular vote didn't become President, it does make some of us think about seriously considering a National Popular Vote. I still lean against it, since it does (as you point out) even further disenfranchise rural voters, but if it could include a twist such as Instant Runoff Voting (where one can rank choices), I think it would deserve a very serious look. The latter should encourage more people to vote, if nothing else. (At this point, it also looks like the overall vote total will be around 7 million fewer than in 2012...) Making this large of a change would require quite a bit of wrangling, but it is at least worth considering if we want our President (and other single-winner races) to best represent the overall electorate.

Well, one thing was absolutely right. Liberal heads exploded.
Hawkeye's head exploded but he keeps posting like a chicken with its head cuttoff that stills runs into the coop for safety.
Some funny stuff and the glorious return of Dweeb.
I prefer my government to be a bit more hamstrung so I certainly don't appreciate this Republicrat ownership of the whole house of cards.
But, maybe, just maybe they will get rid of the stupid suppressor legislation....so that would be cool.
Good luck Kalifornians. Take a nice picture when you buy your ammo....

I was curious about one party having complete control and took a look. Every time one party has had control since the Taft administration there has been an unnecessary war or self inflicted depression/ recession / financial crisis.

Although Trump has portrayed himself as the ultimate outsider, in putting together a transition team the New York real estate mogul has chosen veteran Washington insiders, many of them lobbyists for fossil fuel companies and skeptics about climate science.
While vowing to “cancel” the international Paris climate accord Obama championed, Trump would also rearrange domestic energy and environmental priorities. He wants to open up federal lands to oil and gas drilling and coal mining. He wants to eliminate regulations he calls needless. He would scrap proposed regulations for tighter methane controls on domestic drillers. And he wants to shrink the role of the Environmental Protection Agency to a mostly advisory one and pull back the Clean Power Plan, Obama’s proposed plan to push utilities toward lower carbon emissions.
Then there is the wall. The United States has already spent billions in recent years fencing off about one-third of its southern border. But Trump’s signature proposal calls for finishing the job, trucking in steel and concrete while also entering into likely courtroom battles with ranchers who don’t want to give up their land.

Think Donald will really go after the Clinton crime syndicate?
Yes and others also, hopefully Bush and Cheney and Rumsfeld .... lots of money has been swiped over the last 20 years or so.
I am sure that this year will be one of low donations to the Clintons Foundation.
And if NORTON ever shows his face around here....and after repeatedly asking how can he get to 270.... Look at this election and you can see Trump got to 270... see it was doable after all.

Hopefully his wall nonsense will be buried by reality and maybe result in a search for the real root causes of migration problems.
You might be right on the prosecutor thing... I wonder if she'll take an extended vacation to Qatar before that happens.

We have elected an individual who is recognized as the biggest serial liar who has ever campaigned for the presidency. There were prominent precedents. Here's a quote:
"All this was inspired by the principle—which is quite true within itself—that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying."

no escopeta,
its the "religious" rights lack of an honest moral code for themselves and their lack of ability to look into the mirror that i have a hard time with. hypocrisy abounds from guys like madbolter and cragpussy. they voted for a guy who bragged that he grabbed married womens pussies. unfortunately for them their head is so far up their pussy they cant see or feel trump grabbing them.
But, maybe, just maybe they will get rid of the stupid suppressor legislation....so that would be cool.
