This pretty much undermines the conspiratorial view that the whole election process is rigged and a forgone conclusion.
Sure, the process by which candidates are chosen is pretty controlled, but once the candidates are in front of the populace, the democratic voting process is never clear until the lever is pulled.

I vaguely think it's generally a bad thing, but I put much more weight on the balancing power of the SCOTUS. What I have loudly decried, as I see it as by FAR the greatest threat, is how the SCOTUS has largely abandoned originalism, which I firmly believe cuts the constitution entirely adrift. That's going to be a serious problem for all of us, regardless of whether "conservative" or "liberal" justices are appointed.
The litmus test for appointment should be something like, "Describe what our founders (federalist and anti-federalist alike) thought that 'rights' are, and tell us where you stand on that idea." The correct answer to that question instantly has me not caring what label, "conservative" or "liberal" one might apply to the person!
You can find lots of quotes of me saying things like that. But about the other, nope.
Bottom line is that you had the power to FORCE Obamacare down our throats over the objections of EVERY Republican. Now it will likely get overturned over the objection of every Democrat. Tit for tat.
This is a correction. The left has gone too far, and we are SICK of you "triggering" in the midst of EVERY "discussion." Dweeb is absolutely spot on. Upthread it's still be happening. YOU guys attack with the most vile accusations and epithets, and this crap has been going on nationwide and across college campuses, while you applaud rioting and burning and then expect taxpayers to clean up the messes created by the left.
We're sick of it (across demographics), and you just got handed a correction. If you'll recognize how you went too far, and you'll get serious about engaging in genuine and civil discussion without descending into name-calling and vile accusations, then you'll find people like me seeking balance and compromise. But I am, as just one example, sick of being called a racist when I am not.
We are decent people who want a decent, civil society, not one run by triggered thugs and those that pander to them in order to achieve votes and yet more power. You just got denied power. If you'll think seriously about why, perhaps after you calm down we'll be able to talk civilly about it.

I have been a bit dazed for a while tuning out the political commentary... but just thinking about the conversation I'll have with my 12 year old daughter tomorrow. Such a delicate age of learning what it means to be a woman, and such an ugly slap in the face of what the world really is for women. Or at least what America is for women.
The one thing I can say for Trump is that it's like ripping a scab off an abscess and makes us all look at how much pus infects our social fabric.

Perhaps many voted for 4-years (at most) of Trump instead of their perceieved risk of seeing 8-years of Hillary - Sanders and Elizabeth Warren supporters included.

When just a couple of weeks ago Hillary made it a key component of her platform to go full-on national gun-control, you just PISS people off that otherwise wouldn't have felt particularly threatened on that point. What was the point to that? Hillary was initially looking pretty moderate on that point, and gun-control has been a perpetual LOSER for liberals!
The vast, VAST, VASSSSSSTTTTT majority of gun-owners are safer to be around than cops, and that's a statistical fact. We are NOT going to be treated like second-class citizens or even criminalized by liberalism gone hog-wild. But Hillary just couldn't leave it alone. In her strident confidence, she had to overreach, and it's stuff like that that cost you.
Look, every debate on the issues we've had over the last couple of years proves my overarching point. You were so confident that you couldn't lose that you felt no need to actually discuss. Instead, you, like Hillary, just TOLD us how it was gonna be. Had you just ratcheted back your rhetoric, you would have won.
