And Radical, did you read through the email chain you linked? I'm open minded so I checked it out to see if there are material issues that speak to the character of the candidates... I find nothing in that email chain to reach a conclusion that a family is nuts. I will admit ignorance to following whatever drama is already public knowledge, but just from that email chain we have:
some business discussions of distancing Bill Clinton from the name of the charity?
some discussion of governance revisions that facilitate running the business in an ethical manner
a frustrated employee of unknown mental stability, concerned by unknown work-related b.s., that is considering suicide instead of just quitting and getting a new job. And all of this is heresay from another co-worker summarizing the conversation

How does that make a family nuts? Because the COO of a company they were involved with was very frustrated with 2 members of the family (who are not running for election right now) for unknown reasons? I tend to be a conspiracy nut when it comes to international power struggles or rich vs poor issues, but there is too little to go on here to make anything of it.

The question always is will she have our interests in mind when she is elected and making decisions- the answer is none of us knows.

NUT... exactly- none of us knows. But when HRC had a bit of "real power" she started to have leaders in other countries make donations to the Clinton Fountain.

What were these contributions for exactly?

to help out world peace?

Here's a thought: why don't you look it up?

Yes it was above board, and actually helped people.

Your man trump didn't make a donation to his foundation since 2008. But he used $250,000 of his foundation's money to pay his fines and make portraits of himself. Fact.

Your man trump is an actual crook. You'll vote for him anyway because you've been brainwashed into believing that there must be something wrong with the Clinton foundation, without a shred of evidence supporting such a charge, because she's a Clinton. Yes, you'll vote for the know nothing bigot four weeks from now. Good on ya.

Let's give Hillary Clinton the so-called mandate, aka the blank check, with a Democrat-controlled Congress this Nov.

How cool would that be!

Don't boo... Vote.

For folks who lay blame at Obama's feet... you do realize that he was outspoken against the war?
http://www.tnj.com/archives/2004/september2004/final_word.php

And that we all have no idea what ugly realities he is faced with, things that are kept secret from us all?

His Presidency inherited a crazy financial melt-down borne of too little regulation of banking and finance entities, a disaster in Afghanistan and Iraq that we couldn't afford to pay for, and a nation clamoring to get us the hell out of there because the heat of misplaced revenge had worn off but the expense and suffering of war realities were dragging on. He had to find a way to stop the financial bleed from domestic problems and the war problems, and draw down our involvement in conflicts we should not have been sucked into, to honor the will of our citizens.

He had to deal with people calling him weak for not fighting enough, or not worthy of the peace prize he received because he continued the wars, or being the devil because he left too early to create the power vacuum that created ISIS. It just reminds me of Aesop's fable:
http://fablesofaesop.com/the-miller-his-son-and-their-ass.html

You can't please everyone.

A sign of maturity in my line of work is to come forward with solutions to problems, not just whining and complaints about stuff. Be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

Edit: Guyman, didn't see your post before. I don't hold up Hillary as my role-model for a perfect leader. I don't consider myself her defender, and I haven't done research to debunk whatever skeletons are in her closet. I take it as an article of faith that most politicians have skeletons in their closet. I am trying to look beyond that stuff, and see what are the actual policies and positions that my elected leaders will at least nominally pursue? I know that most of those things with Hillary are consistent with what I would want, and with Donald none of us has a real clue, but our best guesses based on statements he continues to make are pretty ugly. As for morality, whatever history with Hillary antagonizes folks, I haven't seen anything that makes me feel less safe with her than with Donald in power. Let's just wrongly assume the worst of Hillary for a moment, that she is a self-centric murderous b!tch fooling us all so she can grab power and steal our tax money for her personal benefit and that of her friends. Is there anything worse you fear from her? Is that any worse than what we all expect Donald would do? From my perspective, the worst extreme case of Hillary Clinton is about on part with the average expectation of what we might get with the Donald. And there is a lot of upside for good policies and ideas that Hillary supports, with little to no upside for the Donald from my perspective. The only thing I see he has going for him is being an as#@&%e that reminds some people of the strength of their dad. I honestly can't figure out what draws people to Donald aside from that. Every other person under his umbrella seems to be running away from Hillary rather than toward him. So what is the point of Hillary bashing at this point? It's just whining if you don't have a better alternative.

Somebody needs to squash ISIS like the bug it is. TRUMP/PENCE!!!

Can we quit f*#king around?????

Certainly!

How, exactly are THEY or YOU going to accomplish this? Planning to use nukes?? Where?

They have NO plan, and NO knowledge of how to do this. It is no different than the Miss America candidate who is favor of "WORLD PEACE"----in fact, perhaps that is where Trump got this approach.

I like the idea of Canadians identity being that they have no core identity, but, I don't know, believing that we're hypocritical as#@&%es for not accurately believing that we're hypocritical as#@&%es might have some negative evolutionary consequences. Oh, some one named Bid Laden went away under her watch.

She restored our alliances with the EU and key Asian allies as well as key relationships in Africa and Latin America.

what were Hillary's accomplishments as SecState?

1. People-to-People Diplomacy

Clinton understands the importance of strengthening ties with friends and allies while simultaneously engaging adversaries. Through intensive personal interaction, she has deftly built new relationships and managed old ones in a way that advance U.S. interests. In her own words, she has endeavored to ensure that the U.S. has “…a seat at every table that has the potential for being a partnership to solve problems.” For example, she expertly led efforts to rescue Chen Guangcheng, the dissident who took refuge in the U.S. Embassy in Beijing in May 2012, without crippling U.S.-China relations. Clinton has been the most active secretary of state in history, as a result. She has traveled more frequently and visited more countries than any of her predecessors; to date, her travels have spanned nearly 1 million miles and 112 countries.

2. The Importance of Economics

Clinton articulated a new vision of Economic Statecraft that made domestic economic growth – e.g. helping U.S. companies win business overseas – a key pillar of U.S. foreign policy. She made foreign policy relevant to the broader economic conversation, taking place in the U.S. in a show of political savvy few previous secretaries could match. And Clinton appointed the State Department’s first ever-chief economist to help implement Clinton’s vision. She also supported the more traditional economic aspects of foreign policy – such as sanctions – including those that crippled the Iranian government – and free trade – including Free Trade Agreements with allies Panama, Colombia, and South Korea.

3. Restoring American Credibility

Building on people-to-people diplomacy, Clinton has promoted U.S. values in a firm but respectful way that restored international faith in the U.S. that eroded during the Bush administration. Her outreach to Burma balances unwavering support for human rights with the promise of support to a previously suspicious regime and has opened that country to the world for the first time in decades. Aung San Suu Kyi is now free and her party actively participating in the governance reform effort in Burma. Clinton also rejuvenated U.S. engagement in the Middle East by brokering a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel earlier this year. Her shuttle diplomacy and coordination with Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi will likely give the U.S. greater leverage to pursue a robust peace process in 2013.

4. Diplomacy is National Security

The now iconic picture of senior officials gathered in the Situation Room during the Osama Bin Laden raid will forever memorialize one of the principal national security achievements of the first Obama administration. Clinton supported the raid and was a key player in adjusting U.S.-Pakistan relations afterwards. She was also a strong proponent of NATO airstrikes in Libya that eventually led to Muammar Gaddafi’s ouster. Her active diplomacy was critical to securing United Nations Security Council authorization of the Libya mission and maintaining strong European and regional support for it. Without such robust diplomatic effort, the use of military force – in Pakistan and Libya – would not have been nearly as effective. Clinton’s role in these two military campaigns highlights the central role foreign policy plays in U.S. national security in the 21st century.

As our secretary of state, Clinton visited 112 countries, helping to repair a badly damaged U.S. reputation. She advocated an expanded role in global economic issues for the State Department and cited the need for an increased U.S. diplomatic presence, especially in Iraq, where the Defense Department had conducted diplomatic missions. Clinton unveiled the Global Hunger and Food Security program, prevailed over Vice President Biden to send an additional 21,000 troops to Afghanistan, saved the signing of a Turkish-Armenian accord, and assisted the president with major decisions as to the U.S. position with regard to the revolution in Egypt and the decision to use military force in Libya.

So now what DMT?

You've observed that after paying attention to the news, you were unable to name one of Hillary's accomplishments as SecState. Norton named a bunch of them. You felt it was a good response - a response you were unable to construct for yourself after paying close attention to the news.

Now what? What accomplishment have you made in rearranging your assessment of your own ability to form beliefs about Clinton's accomplishments?

Sounds like someone else formed the belief that maybe you need to cut Hillary some slack? Sounds like reasonably reasonable advice for all of us, about all those other humans :-)

Nah, you definitely deserve a response. IMHO, you're as reasonable/open-minded as they come.

Cheers!
