I take it back... the links still work directly when typing in the browser window.

It seems something has changed on Supertopo side?

Either the URL is too long between IMG tags, or maybe not liking https links? (edit: I just tested that my images appear correctly in a browser window whether I use http:// or https://, and changing between these with my supertopo syntax for IMG tags doesn't make a difference- something else is the cause, and it changed since yesterday).

Is Google preventing hotlinking, but still permitting direct browser access?

Reasonable question Munge, but based on DMTs feedback, this seems unlikely- looks like a Supertopo admin issue.

I can't rename the thread so switching to a new one that might get their attention.

Google, Facebook, Tw#tchat and all the rest of the social media sites are ravenous for eyeballs on their own pages, so that they can increase shareholder value by selling advertising space.

The trend is clear. The shareholders are King, and the users and viewers are peasants and serfs tied to the digital land.
