Here's the article with photos.

Apparently it was cut short due to the arrival of President Obama.

Gotta have vision man. Pretty cool for the doers, not sure if it would be a net positive for others in the area to see the falls. Some probably yes, some probably no.

You mean not everyone came to Yosemite to see some jumped up limey yoga tart stretched across the falls?

After the quiet solitude of the Mist Trail tourists were very happy to see human beings

At least there were shots of the waterfall to keep it interesting.

The experience of being on that line right next to the power and beauty of the falls must be amazing. Bummer they had to derig for POTUS.

I wonder if POTUS made it all the way up the cables?
Rock!...oopsie.

but is there a reason for this other than the photos?

Is there a reason to do anything without photos? Pics or it didn't happen. I don't do sh#t without a photo team... literally. I have 2 photographers, a lighting guy, and a fluffer documenting me posting this right now!

edit: OK the fluffer is busy so not actually documenting.

^^ Hence the term "slack".
At least they got that part right.
Otherwise, it smacks of nothing more than internet hey-look-at-me.

Piano wire tight highlines used to be in vogue a few years ago, but are less of a thing now. That looks like a pretty standard rig by today's standards.

now, now... we started posing as soon as someone picked up charcoal and put it to rock... :)

and when we aren't posing there's nothing better than good ole re-creations:

only thing that's changed is that now, due to good ole social media, widespread dissemination of said posing is no longer just the domain of the professionals...

although if we are going to critique, i'd suggest that first shot with the waterfall was ripe for something more than the static composition that was settled on... so i guess from that perspective, maybe we should lament the reduced quality of the posing these days... ;)
