As a boater myself, I can tell you that such a descent does not require skills, only stupidity. What "skills" did you see in the video? I only saw a moron hanging on for dear life.

Sierra Ledge Rat gets the prize for Spewing Old Guy Hey, I still boat out here in whitewater heaven, West Virginia. Why do you think I moved out here? The New River Gorge ain't just for climbing.
But I'm not in some giant Tupperware bathtub, we're doing class 4-5 in glass squirt boats and dropping 15 feet deep in whirlpools. NRG, Gauley, Cheat. You ain't lived until you've run the big water in the main channel on the Ottawa in a tiny squirt boat.
How do you like my custom-made glass squirt boat?
And here we are running the Cheat Canyon (IV) in squirt boats, no pussy high-volume Tupperware here

Nice boat SRL....
We've got a bunch of squirt-boat guys around here who are really good at patching holes from the frequent jagged sharp minerals that abound. Neat boat though, esp rocking those hand paddles.
I can roll my plastic creek boat with those but I've never gotten a reliable combat pure hand roll to work just yet.

Here is my other custom fiberglass squirt boat, putting in on the Deerfield River in the Berkshire Mountains. I commissioned a Haida artist to make the graphics, which we then transferred to the kayak.
