My hemoglobin level went down to about 55% of the last week value.
I would like to restore it as fast as possible, because right now any physical activity (e.g. getting out of bed or going up a flight of stairs) presents a huge challenge to me.

I assume that I am not the only person to face such challenge.
Could you please share what worked and what did not work for you.

You do your own blood work at home?
You need to see a DOCTOR, or a shrink.

Bleeding was a complication during and right after a routine surgery.

Cooking on cast iron will get you all the elemental iron your body needs

Cast iron as a source of iron is a myth, it is in the wrong form. Eat a steak. Eat some raisins.

Yury, if yer blood isn't back to the right levels within a week, two at the most, you have a
problem that won't be solved by eating a whole frying pan.

You're welcome to cite references to your assertion, Moof. Otherwise I'll stick with the knowledge of diet I've built as well as what my professors in college taught.

Although to add to that "needs ... in a normal diet" which I suspect is not the case here or there is otherwise an anomoly. Each red blood cell has at the middle/nucleus of it one elemental iron molecule. So unless you cook on a rusty skillet or piece of left over 58 ford door that's what cast iron can provide (depending on pH of food you cook)

And I suppose it would be worth adding that I've not eaten red meat for 30+ years yet function perfectly well at altitude. Calling you on your myth.

When my hemoglobin went down to 7 post op recently, oral and IV iron did not work.

A transfusion worked.
