Between May and September too. Crazy!! I was there last year when the Crabtree Ranger brought in the Whitney Register, which is public record so I took a pic. I just found out this week how many were on it. I'll bet the outdoor companies are doing pretty good. I ask that as a question about the state of the outdoor business these days.

A ranger once told me that before the permit system they had 20,000.

If so many people want to do Whitney we should have a system where they can. There should be a parking lot in town with a shuttle to a trail system that has complete human waste disposal. There should be an infrastructure for it.
