I'm really new to trad. I've been on 5 trips in the past two years. I've led twice, but I usually follow. Looking to invest in a set of cams. Any suggestions? I've heard great things about BD UL cams and Alien's Original cams because they are really narrow and can fit the smallest of cracks.

Alien's Original cams

For those sizes, Totem cams seem to be today's winner. People around me and myself are very happy with them.

I also heard good things about BD UL cams. If I were to build a brand new rack, I'd get them myself. I'm not hard on my gear.

Totem cams

Thanks for the reply, Mei! I will look into these. They do look a little bulky, but I'll do some research!

Get a 'biner and load it with a selection of small stoppers. And always carry alpine draws to tie sh*t off with.

Buy your cams--Get a few good Hand crack size. and then move of from those as your core. Buy some stoppers about finger to thick finger sized
Make sure you always protect against a ground fall.
