You're going to Korea and you're worried about climbing?
I'd be looking for a hot little mamasan if I were back in Korea

Not sure if there's something close to Busan, but probably worth exploring: http://www.mountainproject.com/v/south-korea/106225629

If you're going through Seoul, consider a stop-over. When you're in the Seoul, look to the north. That range of granite mountains just outside of the city limits is Bukhansan national park.

Smells and feels like you're back in the Valley.

When I was climbing there several years ago, there must have been war games in the valley on the other side. Jets flying by all day, artillery and heavy machine gun fire all day. Interesting place!

SLR, why would you go to Korea only to climb in Yosemite?
Did a lot more than that - chased hot mamasans in Seoul, spent 2 weeks caving with Koreans, another week of scuba diving in the south (off Jeju Island in the Yellow Sea) and some rock climbing in Seoul. Korea is a fantastic place. I've been there several times.

I remember Texas Street being pretty popular for "window shopping"...

I also remember the Russian sailors looking like little teenagers. Nothing like how Russians are portrayed in movies.

If a Russian asks if you "sport" that means boxing.

Avoid strangers hugging you or you may find your wallet stolen as my buddy did.

You may run into US Navy sailors while you're there.

Lastly, the food at McDonalds there was horrible. I'm not one to reinforce stereotypes, but I'll just say that for whatever reason the meat tasted very strange. Same thing with the steak at the Outback Steakhouse there.

Ed I have a buddy there (teaches at an American school) who could probably give you the lowdown and possibly show you around. PM me for his info.

No matter where I travel (business, non-climbing pleasure), I always bring my shoes and a chalk bag. I've climbed in some interesting places.

Of course, we'll need a trip report.

When I was in Seoul a few years ago, I didn't climb, but those crags were beckoning from downtown. You can see them from the main N-S drag in Seoul.

no climbing, last minute decision based on my sore right shoulder... but I did get a hike in, along the wall of the Geumjeongsanseong, and the potential certainly seems to be there

but when by the sea it's hard not to partake of the bounty
