I'm spillin the beans.

Here's the story.

Forevermore

There is an old goat who fishes the Owens.

He was a longtime LADWP employee and a few months from retirement.

He, knowing the Fisheries Act,

And the peak flows,

And the power of a vacuum,

Made one brilliant mistake.

"Did I open the petcock?" He chuckled.

Did you see the pipe collapsed?

It was beautiful.

And the river was restored for the first time in 50 odd years.

Forevermore .

There is an old goat who fishes the Owens.

Ah yes,

and on there other side of the plant USA,
a tow truck driver got very good at the Gravity play,
His name makes it into one of the annuls of the FAs in the 80s in the ditch.
He got so good that it was no thing at all to climb with a trailer hitch,
well no but a car jack was often in tow, in the rain most always though.
So for those who wonder when and how that monster block
or sets of blocks, came to nest in a heap at the bottom of the Trapps,?
it was a M&M who done it.
thanx for that ,
the thing goes at about 5.9 old school don't cha' know.(it is a .10 in the book)

Then there was my good friend (RiP though) who also climbed with tools a lot
And started up the Sheild Solo
then joined with some one, (Scott Burke?) to finish ,
then nearly perish coming down the slabs on the East ledges.

He sent the dead and dying trees from ledges.
The most famous one from the top of 'Modern Times', got stuck, as it was still alive but its pinched off roots were caput.
So any way, this, still live, Famous belay, got stuck a stayed in the way of the 1st pitch, of arguably the most famous , climb anywhere;.
'Lobes' ( I miss ya' UHLE!) then recruited whom ever he could to go and cut that tree free.
a Mess,
but some may remember, a tree, The Modern Times Tree, stuck above the ground
35 feet up 'High Exposure'.

Dammit Gnome,
Why you gotta confuse the subject with unrelated stuff. Stream o' consciousness over at the flames, buddy. It's hard enough to follow good threads without the wall o confusion. Love you bro but cmon bud.

I love the Upper Owens on a lonely day and hiking into the Gorge to have it alone....whether fish are biting or just letting me enjoy the beauty!

"Happily he looked into the flowing river.
Never had a river attracted him as much as this one.
Never had he found the voice and appearance of flowing water so beautiful.
It seemed to him as if the river had something special to tell him,
something which he did not know,
something which still awaited him.
Siddhartha had wanted to drown himself in this river;
the old, tired, despairing Siddhartha was today drowned in it.
The new Siddhartha felt a deep love for this flowing water
and decided that he would not leave it again so quickly."

And our acupuncturist, Dr. Chang, did the footwork to collect the signatures to keep it open.

Just sayin'.

One of the very best days
That three farcickers could have
Was in a couple of canoes
In the company of a case of brews
And NO GODDAM FISH

The Owens hid its trout
We just did without

Bardini'd already been there
And the Rev and I didn't really care
He moreso than I
As the banks slid by
Very very sloughly
Out in the open
Out of the gorge

Out of the water
Out of beer
We bought some more
Our course to steer
To Al's place again
So very near to the take-out
But Saint TM did not appear
As he'd done the night before
To bless our voyage
Time, and
The river Owens runs backwards through it

Yeah, we know - he told Maidy before her initial treatment...

But he is a hero to fishermen and trout-kind!

Just a warm up on the Owen's River Mega Straw.

I remember the very very dry ORG.

You're Welcome Dan. And thank you for all that you've done for us.
