ABOUT TIME!!!!! You buy a size 8.5 Five Ten but an Evolve Defy that's sized 9-1/2 is still too small and you need to go buy a size 10? WTF!? We've all been there. I'd don't know who it is trying to get that crazy sh#t straightened out, but my thanks go our to them!

http://www.sizesquirrel.com/

You enter the size you own (that fit great) and then in the next box the ones you want to get, and it tells you the size you need to buy. It's gonna be a while till all the blanks get filled in, but I'm keeping it book marked for when I find that special LaSprotiva XXX shoe on sale via the internet. (OK, it failed me already I stuck in TC Pro and wanted evolv shaman - men's, and it let me down.

That. The size calculator may give you a good starting point though.

Sometimes I'll ask for another pair of the same size and same model shoe or boot in a store and the employee looks at me like I'm crazy. But even machine produced shoes vary. A seam may be a little different and not bother your foot. Climbing shoes made of natural materials and hand produced can really vary.

I sold enough shoes and ski boots in past jobs to know you keep trying on shoes until you find a pair that fits. Or go somewhere else.

Uh, if the shoe doesn't fit, you didn't try it on? Or, unlikely, you're suffering from foot acromegaly.

I have a pair of Megas and Mega Dru that are still going but need some C4 renovation. The Dru's have always been kind of brutal on the Achilles. Weird shape

When it comes to climbing shoes many usually decent people show their bad side. A common trick is to waste go to a specialty store and waste the valuable time of the clerk getting sized correctly only to go home and order on line.
Even worse....lots of people have feet that are slightly difference in size. Some will switch sizes in a store to get the perfect fit for their different suzed feet. What they leave behind can't be sold....nothing more than common theft.

My feet are 14(-)eeee on the left and 14eee on the right. No climbing shoe ever feels perfect on both feet. So I get one that fits my longest foot pretty close, then stick in shoe trees made as wide as I can get them in the shoe for about a month. In the Exum Guides I kept the trees in for 3 months. These shoes fit much nicer after that and I can wear shoes of either foot all day after that treatment whereas the left foot (widest) felt quite painful after about 5 min before that. Leather shoes (LS Mythos and Scarpa Techno X) give best results, and I have been able to extend the length a bit doing this.
