Thunder had another brick hoisting fest and while the Warriors didn't
exactly shine they did shoot almost 50% from Threeland!

I knew The Warriors were going to win. Rick Barry emailed me and told me they'd scheduled him for the post game trophy whoop-dee-do.

And yes rottingJ, I'm going to have to agree, the rogaine didn't work for Rick.

Both AC and David Greenwood were very unpretentious, IMO.

All rogaine team, gotta have Reggie Theus

Could't let this one pass. Dumb ass statement.

The Thunder outplayed the Warriors, but lost to math

The team that wins the series outplays the one that loses, unless there is a default.

Do folks that write this stuff get paid?

Manages to get get in all the dumb ass catchwords in use in one sentence.

Oklahoma City put itself in position to win both games by relentlessly attacking the offensive boards and protecting the paint with its length, athleticism and physicality.

Some folks just don't get it and what about their spirituality and oxygenationality?

Keven (they call me free agent) D. is not exempt.

"They beat us from the three-point line the last two games. We beat them from everywhere else," Durant said. "That was the series."

There is a big old scoreboard there in the arena. They should have tried looking up at it, instead of praying they were gonna miss. No way Adams can come close to guarding Curry on the perimeter, even without a sore dick.

They should have noticed that each one of those shots beyond the line that went in put three points on it. Since the Thunder lost to math, they should just be thankful that each score didn'put up an ∞ number.

I'm reluctant to provide this fool any traffic, but here it is.

He could've quit after the first sentence.

As we learned in grade school, three is greater than two.

The Thunder is really a great team. I feel bad for Durant and Company. I really do hope he wins a title soon. They pushed Golden State to the brink over and over.

But the Warriors didn't just fall into the finals through dumb luck, that's ridiculous.

The final score is the final score. That's the way all sports have been measured since like forever. That's why they have the big blinky digital thing hanging in every arena. Too bad for OKC. Back to the drawing board boys!

Another great game.

But really NBA, TNT? I haven't had cable in years.

At least I can get the internet feed, but mosaic is too busy, and action misses lot's of the action.

Let the Finals begin. On ABC, so no cable, no problem.

Should be a good series. I have some game 5 tickets for sale, any bidders? ha. Face value is 1k per ticket! (this is why I need to sell them, I can't afford my own tickets!)

Curry's leadership in the fourth quarter last night was huge. What a player!

Of course Thompson's game six antics are the only reason there was a game 7...

Donini? Anyone. Dubs!

$1,000 a ticket for a game that's gonna be on TV, that's two hours away, that the Warriors might lose?

Wow, where do I sign up?

Super Bowl tix are $4000 plus, so $1K doesn't sound so bad if you got the coin. It all depends on your income, but I'd want to see the last game preferably, which game 5 may be.

Special night. Walked into Gabe's Tavern and Adolf was thinking of closing, since he'd had no business until I got there. Everyone was at BBQs drinking their own beer.

So I had a prime seat in front of the box until the second half, when folks showed up.

These four were UC Merced students and grad students. They ordered a drink called a mihilada, which needs 32 ozs. of Bud draft, either clamahto (I say clamayto) juice or tomahto (again, I say tomayto), several green stuffed olives to loll around in the bottom like little prizes, and pepper and tabasco. I ended up polishing off two after my first brew, which I'd nursed through the first half.

After the victory, I celebrated at the Public House with another beer and then someone bought me a glass of wine.

I fell off the bike trying to get on it to ride home, ended up walking it and feeling GLORIOUS. I slept till almost noon.

Do the math. 12 + 64 + 16 = 92 ozs. Probably a record but I keep no stats on my vices.
ON TO CLEVELAND!

Sorry to bust your bubble, Mouse, but 32 oz of Bud only equals 12 oz of beer. :p

Lazy at-home version: 24 oz can of Modelo Chelada + pepperoncini = amazing. Tear the top off the pepperoncini, dump the juice in the beer, then stuff the pepper in the mouth of the can, too. Best thing ever after a couple hours of yardwork in the sun.

Well, what is Las Vegas (shout out to Reggie Theus) saying about the Cleveland Cabriolets vs. the Oakland (nee Frisco, The City, San Francisco) No-Worriers?

Shortly after the Warriors defeated the Thunder in Game 7 on Monday night, Golden State was named a -185 favorite to win the title by the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook. Cleveland was given +165 betting odds, but the betting public quickly threw their support behind the team that won 73 games in the regular season. The Warriors’ odds increased to -230, and the Cavs became a +200 underdog in their quest for revenge from last season.

Say whaat? We were just talkin' length, athleticism, physicality, angle of the dangle, step-sliding, taking away the baseline, and blocking out.

Never even heard of this stuff. Did you play for UCLA or UC_M?

Best dunk ever? Just like the best wave ever. The one that happened right before you got here.

Nonetheless, it's still a game of X's and O's, eh? Special guest appearance by Mark Spitz.

Me play? Hah! I just sit on my couch and try to yell through my tv at people who have been doing it for years how they should do it better. (Gig 'em Aggies, btw.)

And sorry for the thread drift. Just trying to distract myself from the fact that in a moment of weakness I let my faith wander.

I used to yell at Dick Vitale thru the TV. Even had Shaq threaten him ("dance, tenderfoot").

The takeaway, you cannot shut Vitale up.

Mr. College Basketball” is so popular now that it’s hard to imagine college hoops without his over the top personality and legendary screaming into the microphone. Luckily for college hoops fans, Vitale’s brief NBA coaching career was unsuccessful, but he still serves as a footnote in the history of the Pistons, and ironically, that of the Celtics as well. [2012]

Interesting typo here.

Vitale was axed in odd fashion. Team owner Bill Davidson showed up at his Dick’s house unannounced and told him the news in his kitchen. Vitale’s NBA coaching career was over after 94 games and just 34 victories. The 1979-1980 team would go on to win just 16 games in the worst season in Pistons history.

In 1997 the Utah Jazz had the best regular season record and breezed through the western conference playoffs. Chicago struggled and endured some tough series before finally winning the east and another trip to the finals. The Jazz had 11 days off between winning the west and the first game of the finals and were never as sharp in the finals.

Of course Michael Jordan had a lot to do with that but I always felt that the long layoff hurt the Jazz and that they may have had a better chance if they didn't have such a long wait. Practice is one thing, but intense game situations is another.

So I wonder if Cleveland's relatively easy romp through the east and their subsequent layoff will actually hurt their chances?
