Justin, the niece is coming out to do a mandatory college orientation 2 days. Missing this gathering pains me but my baby comes first!

I'll be out at Bass Lake the week prior to this gig. Gimme a heads-up if anybody is around. Prolly be fishing, hiking, checking things out. I'll be with my wife and son.

A general, all-out vacation type thing. Sweet!!!

And yeah, we'll be heading for the Sleep on the weekend.

Received two packages this weekend for the raffle, one from Neebee and one from Phyl. Neebee sent five cool dreamcatchers and Phyl sent some great climbing books, two by Tami Knight, a cool little painting, and some cam lube. Big thanks to both of them.

The Big Sleep will be no problem to get to , so the June date gamble paid off.

Anyone else who would like to donate raffle items, please contact me at jross1838 @ g m a i l .com. Or bring it with you along with cash, tons of cash. All raffle money will be sent to the ASCA, so lets try to make at least a thousand for them. I failed to finish a knife in time before my surgery, but will be donating a rope instead.

Any questions on anything either email me or post here, see you all soon.

Thanks again Phyl and Neebee.

One more in -- will have the wife and the then-barely-one-year-old in tow.

Just saw this from February. Significantly bumps the chance of me and my 1 year old. We're doing a camping test run Memorial Weekend, so I'll know more after then.

Yeah we're still committed. Though, #2 is in the oven, so it may just be a day trip if wife doesn't feel up to camping.

Bring the little one. We'll set 'em up on a crash pad and let 'em wrestle. We can place bets. We'll skim 10% of the pot for the ASCA. That's in the spirit of the event...right?

A friend from CO changed his flight for the window of the gathering. #hellaweakbrah but I have to pick him up in the airport and go hiking with him. If something happens and he can't make the trip I am down to #sportclimp

I have to send you a few things I made for a raffle. Do you guys ever go by Visalia? I can drop it off with Daniel or in Fresno or anywhere on the way from SF to SEKI..

Moose, don't make me say a polish joke. Or has living in America made you lazy? It will be at the Big Sleep area, as stated in this thread. Really looking forward to sharing some good beer with you finally.

Sorry V, but I've already ordered the What Would Vitaliy Do t-shirts for the event, so you gotta come. No worries man, I'm sure you guys got something awesome planned. I don't make it to Visalia, too often. I believe micro nut is planning on making it, so maybe he could meet up. Or limpingcrab should bring it to further his sport climbing, poofter studies.

It's on like Donkey Kong!

We're probably at about 70% in right now. Just keeping a little bit in reserve in case next weekend is explosively bad. But I'm optimistic!

Hello everyone! I've never posted here before, and I don't think I know more than one of two folks on the forum, but meeting a bunch of new climbers sounds like fun. Plus I've been meaning to climb the shuteye area for a while.

I'll plan on being out there, probably with 2 kids (ages 6 and 7), possibly one more.

Going on the assumption I'll make it, I have a fullbody kid's harness and a pair of Eur size 33 climbing shoes I'm more than happy to share, in case anyone with a munchkin is on the fence about coming..

Looks like I will be able to make it to this party. Just to be sure - camping area is at the Shuteye Pass trailhead site, not the site near the Sleepy Boulders - is this correct?

I am pretty bummed that I am going to have to miss yet another year. Powder will be coming and scoping out the place so we can visit sometime. I expect everyone to treat her well, and take her out climbing, unless if youre some kinda creep, ya heard!?

Here are the 2 wheel drive directions to the camping from the guidebook, typed out:

Brown’s Meadow Rd (7S02) directions:

Allow one hour from North Fork.

From North Fork, take the Mammoth Pool Rd (aka Road 225 aka Minarets Rd) east out of town and past the old mill, heading towards Mammoth Pools. At about 22-23 miles, before the pullout for Mile High Overlook, you pass Rock Creek Campground on the right. Three-quarters of a mile past the campground and before the road actually crosses Rock Creek, a major intersection on your left is dirt road 7S02 to Brown’s Meadow.

Fifty yards past the intersection there is a drinking water spring on the left.

Turn left on 7S02 and follow it about 7 miles until you can see Big Sleep Dome on the right. A small dirt road on the right leads to the right (south) side of Big Sleep Dome drainage and Shuteye Pass trail. Keep your eyes peeled because the turn, in the middle of a right-hand curve, is easy to miss if you are driving fast. This final short road is a bit rocky so drive carefully to avoid flats.

A large open area to your right on the way is the main camping area.

I will have a taco sign at the start of the last little road.

Kahola, that sucks man, heard you will be stuck in the Valley. Not a bad place to be "stuck." Powder will have no problem finding good partners and by the end she will be your guide when you make it up there.

Two of our friends have the temerity to schedule their daughter's wedding for June 25. Nonetheless, I'm planning on spending as much of the weekend as possible up there. I suspect that means I'll miss festivities on Saturday evening night but, I hope, I'll be back up Sunday morning.
