Hello FOTF, (Friends Of The Film)

Whew! We are finally done making and shipping t-shirts, prints, backpacks, tents, shoes, sunglasses and Tom Frost Nuts. We hope you love your perks!

Things are exciting on the movie making side as well. With you support, we’ve been able to continue to produce valuable footage. This weekend we are off to Las Vegas for the Red Rocks Rendezvous (thank you Mountain Gear)- please be sure to stop by and say hello if you’re around!

Later this month Doug Robinson will join us on a trip to North Carolina as we spend a weekend getting to know Kai Lightner and filming him on some of the local rocks.

We continue to forge amazing partnerships- and while we’ve come close to getting the entire film funded with a couple of large companies, the search for just the right title sponsor continues. We feel great about our momentum and look forward to spending an entire month in the Valley this fall filming Kai, Doug and a collection of some of the worlds elite athletes.

Thank you for your continued support and confidence in the project. We continue to accept donations on our Flatlander Films website and are working hard to create a film that will make Tom proud and you entertained!

Get ‘er Done!

In lieu of a loaner RV if anyone would like to contribute substantially towards the cost of a rental that would also help meet this need.

Tom will be filming and recording with a bunch of folks stopping by so it will be a good time and if you happen to have something worthwhile to say about the Golden Age or Tom Frost, who knows, it just might make its way into the film.

Support this film!

Every climber who has climbed in Yosemite and/or who has delved, even slightly, into Yosemite's climbing history will appreciate Tom Frost's pioneering spirit and elegant style as expressed in his extensive list of first ascents.

Beyond those pioneering climbs, mostly done in the 1960's, Tom not only climbed El Cap with his son Tom in the 1990's, but took the lead, personally, financially, and legally to prevent the loss of Camp 4 to the development of an expanded Yosemite Lodge after the 1997 flood. For these efforts, climbers since then have owed Tom a debt of gratitude for his personal commitment to the climbing community. After the legal victory, came the 1999 Camp 4 Reunion Celebration which brought together climbers from every generation of climbers since technical climbing was first introduced from Europe in the 1930's.

David Brower did 18 FAs in the Valley in the 1930s and was also THE premier conservation/preservationist of the last half of the 20th century.

Allen Steck, pioneer Yosemite climber of the 1950s and 1960s.

Tom Frost who is directly responsible for our still having Camp 4 as our physical and spiritual home within Yosemite Valley.

The turnout for the 1999 C-4 Reunion was fabulous! THANK YOU, TOM!

People don't know this but Tom and his wife Joyce spent about $70,000 to make that momentous Camp 4 gathering happen after getting $50K back in legal fees from their successful legal action. They overcame every obstacle and constraint to bring the Yosemite climbing together in celebration of preserving Camp 4 and its surroundings for everyone to enjoy.

Help Tom Seawell and Jeff Wiant tell this amazing story on film and repay Mr. Frost for all that he has done for us all along the way.
