] Sweet, I have been wondering when and where to go off
Dogs ~
they have more human emotions and learn what to be
I took a loaded gun from a puppy mill Ahmed the Arab had a Sable Shepard from Chezc
She was Schutzund trained for a year then put in a box and airmailed to Nj.
To a house that floods and back in a damn box to breed.
then once she had gone kennel blind and lost her sense of smell,
and bred nealy to death, she was put up on craigslist , unfixed.
the dollar amount was an insult and we saw her and left.
Two hours of driving latter I knew what and to be done.
The next day I returned carrying,
when we got back to the shores of the Passaic river
we sat and explained to a neighbor what we thought was going on in the house on the river.
The women there confirmed;
"Ho yes vicious dogs are trained there"
"with the guys in those padded suits hitting them with sticks to provoke them."
Argh.[Click to View YouTube Video]
So armed with this information we called animal welfare and asked them to come back me up.
The wife held back as the police arrived and tried to dissuade me and threatened to arrest me.
They wanted to know where my ride was.
I rang the door bell and was let in,
choking from the stench of the flood ravaged condemned house.
This little girl dog had been pinned through the butt,
to hold her in place to be bred, rapped.
the ooze stunk from the wound.
She was matted and covered in filth.
A actually hard coat of old excrement clung to her nips that are an inch long.

asked for the cash I said
"I need to see how she walks on a leash."
Ahmed said;
"I dont think thats a good idea, she's not an outside dog, my program is for police K-9's"
Do you have a leash with you there isn't one here"

Prepared, I pulled out a blue nylon braided sting with a ring at the end, and girth hitched the dogs neck.

My hart was pounding and so the dog was upset. She could tell some thing was about to happen.

Ahmed again was nervous and said she was trained to bite but 'hasn't worked for along time.
please be careful. . .

' then he said that the back yard was the training area and that it might be dangerous with out pads to go back by the river.
I said that I was an outdoors sort of guy and I like to go fishing so I want to walk her along the river back there.

He said that It has been to wet, it would be better to just go out front on the drive way to the street , and usherd us to the front door.

He opend the door wide for me and the dog to go through, standing far back as we passed , so not seeing the cops.

Half a step in front of me she looked back then cowerd in the sunshine .

The cops hit their lights as Ahmed came after us.
At the flashing cruiser, I stopped and turned to him and a said do you want to explain to these men why she has a runny wound and a hole at the top of her tail?
This dog stunk from thirty paces away you could smell it, rot and crap and mold.
Her black coat was grey, coverd in shjt.
The one cop knelt down and inspected the wound got a wiff
and gaged and radioed,
in came animal welfare .
By now the neighbors were out on their front lawns -
A buxom blond, in a white car with out of state plates,
screeched to a stop at the end of the drive way,
the cops waved me on, and I got in and took off with the dog.

Ya'll just need to learn to understand "dog". Here, I'll give you a primer.

This is the "aren't you done with the toilet yet??" look.

Now here is the "how come you haven't fed me yet??" look.

It's a matter of the good and the bad. Overall the good wins, I think. But the bad is much worse than so far discussed.

Dog sh1t is full of disease bacteria and parasites. The parasitic eggs can persist for decades, lurking in the soil in what appears to be a very clean area, back yards and public parks. Parasites that can kill or cripple, especially dangerous to children. See Monsters Inside Me on the Animal Planet. Dried sh1t can turn into airborn dust, spreading disease and parasites far and wide, another lethal component to air pollution. Cats and livestock also contribute to this unsavory air pollution.

Cats kill much of the native wildlife, birds, snakes etc that would otherwise still be able to survive in the cities (dogs much less so). The dogs kill many cats, to their credit. Our dog, when I was a kid, kept the back yard free of cats but ignored all bird activity creating a bird sanctuary. He'd be laying out on the lawn with a big flock of birds all around him.

The big overwhelming plus for dogs, cats, and all animal pets is that they teach humans what beautiful creatures animals are. They teach humans empathy for animals in general. How else would humans have any idea at all of the nature of animals without this close personal contact?

Not all dog owners have it but it is called anthropomorphism. It is basically a psychological disorder. I agree with the op except for the hatem part, I think they are pretty cool.

I've known about this book Gnome, it's a great share. And it hits the nail right on the head; dogs are dogs, not people. The behavior of a dog is based on wolf behavior essentially, and they have emotions and are problem solvers.

Dogs have enough sense to enjoy the outdoors and they don't waste time whining about humans on the internet.

There is that.

I keep telling the wife the dog doesn't have an amigdula (sp), and thus, doesn't feel love.

She laughs when he shows obvious love over the simple fact that we woke up. Ever witness a dog wagging it's tail so aggressively that it wakes up your partner?

Love.

Put yourself on a lease. Dogs have just as much right as you to be here. Dogs rock. Humans in general, not so much.

Agreed, it is the owners. I like dawgs

Wandering up the stillwater river with the river drowining out most noise. All of a sudden an unleashed big ass dawg rounds the corner barking and trying to look menacing. I held my ground. Several minutes later the owner finally comes around the corner. Told her she should leash her dawg and she just poo-pooed me and kept on going without an apology. Not the first time and not the last.

Leash your fricken dawgs!

We can see dogs as half empty or half full, and then believe that's about the dog or about other people. I wouldn't call it a psychological disorder, I'd call it a psychology :-) You're ok, just like the dog anthropomorphizers and their dogs. Can't wait to see the documentary "Humans decoded" but we're not quite there. Yet.

Well this is a pickle I have to walk the loaded gun , I am quick and so she is too,
I will be right back,

back to say, Ojai Alex,

( I think )if you got bit, then the owner and you both should report the event .
If a dog is a biter it will bite again. did you do anything to provoke the dog?
even if you hit it with a stick , it should not go unreported.
Next time it could bite a kid.
no,
don't make a case out of what the owner did not do, have the dog on a leash or a muzzle
a Leash law, is in place? It is only good if it is enforced.
( so maybe make a case? I would try to avoid the whole law thing)
But, someone needs to be the dog's owners conscious,
and screw the good neighbor bull,
the dog must now and going forward be muzzled or leashed or both .
