Has anyone looked into using bug protein to fortify commercial chicken feed? My chickens love to eat bugs! Then I eat the eggs. So I'm eating the bugs second hand...

Meg- Perhaps you were just using this setup for the video and therefore didnt pay close attention but your silent partner is only connect with one locker and it sure looks like the rope is threaded incorrectly. The silent partner has been awesome for me and has held two long falls (50-80ft) but always double check your setup!!!
Best of luck on your climb. Take your time, don't get discouraged, stay hydrated and remember to relax. Oh yeah...write a trip report when you finish. Cheers-
Matt

I love the taco. Yall are the cynical pinnacle of bombastic bullshit filtering. Nothing escapes yall.
The promo video was super last minute. They just wanted me to solo up stuff with ropes and so forth to look climbery. It was never meant to be respected by the vertically inclined.
As for 5000 cal / day - this may be a stretch at 2 pitches a day, but this route is at the edge of what I feel halfway comfortable on. Most of those calories will be burned via pucker effect.
I'll be the jackass in camp 4 with a bunch of inflatable bugs, probably getting in around 9/23. And I'll have samples ...
Good job my valiant sprayers!

Meg, best of luck to you. Seriously.
This whole thing is weird. The only one spraying is the one who made the video asking for money... Obviously some people will nit pick the technical bullsh#t, like they do with every video (I DON'T SEE ANY HELMETZ!), and that is kind of expected.
I think your video was not made for this audience. At all. Not one percent. Why expect us to think it is awesome?
I have a friend who is a professional athlete and plant fed. Another friend of mine solo'd el cap with Old E and Tuna.
Go climb El Cap. Go have some fun. Explore your diet and lifestyle. All those things are great, but Dear God, don't make a corny video and share it with a bunch of alcoholic dirtbags and expect us to not make fun of it. I hope the best for your project, but if I had an extra $20 to give to a climber I'd probably give it some broke kid.
See you at facelift, save me some bugz...

I once ate 2/3 of a Cliff Bar without paying attention.
It wasn't as sugary as usual, but did taste more traditional and holesome.
Forget what I climbed that day, so it doesn't count.

Reading the El Cap Report 9/30/15 it sounds as if the wall is going well:
"Mescalito: Meg continues to cruise the “Bug Wall.” I have been shooting her for several days now and I can tell you that this woman is a really good wall climber. Her belays are so well arranged and managed that they make Hudon’s look like one of Pete’s junk shows! She climbs with a relaxed style and efficient movements. Yeah Meg… sending!!!"
Go Meghan!

Cool..I've eaten bugs here and there..as a kid I found a type of ant that was really sweet and crunchy.. I liked em. Then people told me it was weird and gross so I stopped..unless I see some exotic vendor with chocolate covered ants.
Solid climb! Go Meg!

Hey, I've had lime salted jalepeno fried crickets in Mainland Mex before. Were not bad with a Bohemia.
All bugs; probably not the best diet in the world for ya. It's only a small part of a nutritious diet in Papua New Guinea.

I knew a guy in Montana who lived on the Bitteroot. He told me that once he and his brother ate so many salmon flies that they got full. They were fishermen and the hatch was on.

Awesome trip report. I love to read TR's of Mescalito having spent 9 days on it in '07. All the same feelings you describe. Good effort.
Cheers,
Doug
