And what is the overhead of Medicare vs private insurance? Medicare is about 2%, private health insurance is about 20%. 'Nuf said.

Your new avatar graphic isn't as cool as the Circle Jerks one.

And certainly not as reflective of our coveted polititard threads.

The right likes to talk about the inefficiency of govt., but never say a word about the absolute killing overhead and profit of administering basic healthcare via for-profit health insurers and hospital systems. Their combined overhead and profits have restricted healthcare and produced a system so insane that most Americans live one catastrophic healthcare event away from bankruptcy.

And only a complete moron would decide the solution to obscene pharma prices is to allow us to re-import U.S.-exported drugs which sell for a fraction of our cost elsewhere in the world.

In general, infant mortality rate pretty much says it all and the U.S. is a third world country by that measure. It's embarrassing beyond words.

well what was the population in 74 compared to 14?

About A third fewer women 14-44 In 76.

The percent of childless women in the same group in 1976 was 35.1%

I don't think it was ever the case where all women bore children. Reasons cited for the difference were wage pressures and that a higher percent of women work now.

Back then, football protective gear, like helmets and pads, were hardly protective at all.

Trump’s battle helmet lacked sufficient padding, and might as well have been just a thin leather cap to prevent his scalp from being sheared from his skull during an especially spirited physical exchange.

The long-term effects of concussions were unknown, and champion athletes - like a team captain, like a Trump - would play hyper-aggressively with reckless abandon.

Football opponents would sprint towards each other head-first, colliding cranium to cranium at maximum velocity, with a wanton and almost suicidal disregard for such unmanly consequences as pain and suffering, injury and disfigurement.

The team captain, by definition, would be the guy who was The Best, and the type of guy who might study the masculinity rituals of big-horn sheep to improve his game-day performance.

Trump would crash concussively again and again into his opponent, both men equally crazed, foaming at the mouth, and eager to win the prize.

Naturally, this sort of primal contest of mighty flesh powered by lunatic will-power would cause head injuries, concussions, and later, brain damage.

A 1960’s military school football coach would have medically attended to an injured, semi-conscious, wobbly, senseless, dazed and confused player by yelling at him, "Shake if off! Get back out there!"

Only The Donald knows how many times he has staggered off the gridiron, in the wrong direction, tacking upwind like a sailboat, and hearing a faint, barely audible voice in the far, far distance (110 decibels and two inches from his ear) calling out, “Trump! Trump! Trump! What the hell are you doing? Get back out there!"

Less government is the ONLY way out of this. The reason people are so polarized is due to the fact that government is in every single corner of our lives. No other reason.

Can you make these even just a little harder to disprove? I mean it doesn't take much thought to identify a myriad of reasons for polarization other than "big government." There are numerous times of extreme political polarization throughout American history and all of them were during times when government was far less intrusive.

The Veterans Administration is government run healthcare and no one who has ever worked there, or tried to receive timely healthcare there would ever call it efficient.

The real problem IMO is what seems to be over administration of healthcare no matter the deliver system. There often seems to be more administrators and nurse supervisors in any hospital environment I have worked in than people actually taking care of patients.

More kudos to The Trolls

Bidding in an online auction for the gun that George Zimmerman used to kill Trayvon Martin was up to $65 million Friday morning as Internet trolls appeared to weigh in drive the offers up to astronomic levels

R U Peeplz Serious? If so, U R Being Seiously Deluded.

1 million seconds = 11 and 1/2 days.

1 billion seconds = 31 and 3/4 years.

1 trillion seconds = 31,710 years.

The U$ofA'$ national debt exceeds 19 trillion dollars.

If one million dollars were added to a fund each day startijg at the birth of Jesus Christ, it would take another 710 years to accumulate 1 trillion dollars. 365 million a year. That's more than 1 billion dollars every 3 years.

Um, did someone say that he would make the U$ofA rich again if he was elected?

This country is bankrupt. U aint got sh#t in yo bank accounts, homies. U R being played. I'll give U a hint. All this BullSh!t about Hagins going bankrupt and suing Albertsons/Vons, etc corporation for a billion dollars because of the 232 stores Haigens bought, yada, yada...! So Albertsons/Vons, etc corp purchases the 232 grocery last year...! Smokescreen. Look, ...nevermind.

All I got 2 say is this (MotherFu€kers know who they are)... "Uh oh, here comes Butch!" Lakeside 2 weeks ago wasnt sh#t. I simply made a point (once a again) HAMC DAGO U R Satan's lil' Bitch's and U R scared shitless b'cuz you know I'll be back.

Edit: BTW if, perhaps, Mexico were to agree to the financing of a wall, it would be to hinder a sudden onslaught of U$ofA'$ citizens flooding into Mexico.

Trump thinks the bathroom laws should be left up to the States, because we all know the States have been historically known for being good defenders of civil liberties.

I think we should send in 1000s of transgender people into these states and USE the Bathrooms that the State has determined to make them legally use.

So we will have Bearded Chaz Bono in the Women's bathroom standing in the stall next to you pissing.

And Caitlyn Jenner doing her makeup and hair in the Men's Bathroom

All because this was such a Huge problem in the past that they needed to have Government intervention to make it illegal (what about too much Gov. in their lives!!)

Except the truth being that never has there been an incident of transgender person that molested someone in the wrong bathroom

and if anyone molests someone in a bathroom, there are already laws against that.

No, it's another way to bring out the Christian outrage that our society has gone to hell, and something has to be done to keep those LBGT people from having equal rights.

Fear based politics, the only thing the right wing can use to manipulate the right wing base of idiots.

From our old buddy Mitt Romney's Facebook:

It is disqualifying for a modern-day presidential nominee to refuse to release tax returns to the voters, especially one who has not been subject to public scrutiny in either military or public service. Tax returns provide the public with its sole confirmation of the veracity of a candidate's representations regarding charities, priorities, wealth, tax conformance, and conflicts of interest. Further, while not a likely circumstance, the potential for hidden inappropriate associations with foreign entities, criminal organizations, or other unsavory groups is simply too great a risk to ignore for someone who is seeking to become commander-in-chief.

Mr. Trump says he is being audited. So? There is nothing that prevents releasing tax returns that are being audited. Further, he could release returns for the years immediately prior to the years under audit. There is only one logical explanation for Mr. Trump's refusal to release his returns: there is a bombshell in them. Given Mr. Trump's equanimity with other flaws in his history, we can only assume it's a bombshell of unusual size.

Time to get to work.
