Messner Mountain Museum Corones opened to the public this week after a three year build. It is the sixth and final of a series of museum buildings based around the mountainous South Tyrol region in an ambitious project by famous mountaineer and local, Reinhold Messner.

Would be interesting to get your take Peter on both the outside and the inside of the Museum.

For some time now I've thought that the ultimate museum, the one that architects have been striving toward for many decades now, is the one that is so refined in its use of materials, so achingly beautiful inside and out, so strikingly original, that to sully such perfection with mere artifacts would be an unnecessary distraction.

From the photos, can see we're getting close. Bravo!

I did not know that there was a Messner Mountain.

Or are they just messneround, like he did his entire career?
