Hey tribe I want to get the word ut far and wide that legendary climber Bob Culp had his entire rack stolen from his truck last Sunday up Boulder Canyon. It would be greatly appreciated if the tribe cranked up the radar and see if we can get his gear back.

I guess it goes to show that the tigers of yesterday get no respect, Philo. Thanks for the heads up, and I hope the gear and culprit are found.

due to extensive and surely expensive
engineering it is not possible for
a butt plug to engage the cavity crooked.
you could foreseeable insert it backwards
or sideways, but it absolutely cannot
go in crooked.
locker, you serve compromised insults
and i'm no stranger to the wrong
end of a gear theft.
it'll all right itself.
fate is like a butt plug.

Bob is a professional guide and this is the start of the his busy season. The timing couldn't be worse. It appears his gear was stollen from a his pick up truck tool box while he was occupied guiding clients at the Nip and Tuck formation in Boulder Canyon. Bob is one of our living legends and hopefully folks will see fit to keep their eyes and ears out for unusual gear sale notices. Bob did post up on Mountain Project but I'd hoped to cast a wider net. Let's help Bob out if we can.

Back on topic.
Allen Hill recently noted on Facebook that he had gear to give away so maybe he can get in touch with Bob Culp? Probably Philo has phone numbers for both of them.

That contact is already in the works Jan. It would still be best to get Bob's original gear back.

Damned happy for Bob, and glad you spread the message, but just cause folks are alerted and the word gets out: no one else gets their gear back just 'cause of that. What's the rest of the story?

As far as I understand it, the thief probably got cold feet and dumped the gear in Boulder Canyon where it was picked up by someone who put a notice on Craig's list which got spotted by Allen Hill who then notified Philo?

I'm happy for Bob, and that we're now alert to the presence of thieves in Boulder Canyon. Apparently this theft took place at Nip and Tuck rocks. Bob is lucky the thieves lost their nerve...

Well thanks to Philo for posting for me. I wouldn't have thought to do it. It appears the "legend" just walked off leaving his gear piled up on the ground. Some good Samaritan spotted a post on Craigslist mentioning a found rack at Castle Rock and I recovered it. No thieves.
