I've posted this before, but I really want to get your gear back to you. On Friday, May 22, you left your full rack (gear, slings, ascenders, draws, etc.) at Thin Wall in Tree. The gear is a unique collection to be sure, and many of the pieces are initialed. So, if this is yours, please let me know so I can get it back to you.

Major props to you. Saw this the first time around. Nice job going the extra mile.

If the gear is dripping in motor oil - we might know who it belongs too.

Between the motor oil and the multimeter, there's a joke I'm not getting (kinda curious though). But thanks for keeping the thread visible...this rack represents decades of gear and a lifetime of climbing memories, I would imagine, for the rightful owner.

Way to go, ggemmen. Sounds like a significant collection of gear. Odd that a month would pass without word getting back to the owner that his/her gear has been found and is secure. I too was curious about the inside joke regarding the motor oil and multimeter. Hopefully, the rightful owner will come forth.

Thanks, eKat, got it. There was a bit of a delay that allowed your post to slip in.

Don't give up. I found a camera once in the Owen's River Gorge and posted about it here. A full year later, the owner got word about the post and contacted me and I was able to return it to her!
looking sketchy there...

Presumably, you posted something at or with Nomad Ventures too.

You might cross post this to MP as well.

If the rack has old hex's that are drilled out and have more holes than metal and are slung with 1" tubular, a set of wired Diamond-C nuts to #8, a couple of tube chocks, a tuber belay device, and some Liberty biners, it's mine.

You can keep it, I've upgraded over the weekend.

Yes, I contacted Nomads a few times to see if someone came looking for it and asked them to post a flier.

k-man, thanks for offering up your rack after your own upgrade, but I don't think it was yours. much of what you described is close (the hexes), but not the nuts, etc., so I think the rightful owner is out there still.

Every time I see this thread I make up a story about this person. It goes like this: he's scared and run out and decides he hates this sport. He just walks away from the rack. You wont ever find him because he is never going to have anything to do with climbing again.

No, this gear is well-seasoned and had been collected over decades. The likely person was one of two older gentlemen who were climbing next to us earlier in the day, but we didn't ge their names of contact info obviously. These guys were solid and experienced...but also apparently very forgetful :-/

Great, now my brain moves on to different story: Alzheimer's strikes climber at base of route. He forgets he climbs.
