Guido, I have just found an idea: I trade your Chouinard Crack’n Up #1 for a “home-made” PatentWear T-Shirt…:-)

I'd kick in some cash to see that #1 go to Stephane (Nutstory) and the Nut Museum...

I put up a 60' variation with crack-n-ups and 3 thin stoppers one time.
Dicey.

Dang I sold one of these for 15 bucks a while back. Found it in a lot of gear I bought and had no clue what it was. A mix of noob and youngness I guess never knew they were bomber.

The #2 I had folded up on me when I stood on it (full disclosure: slightly overhung wall and I was 200lb). The #1 was always more of an experiment.
The #3 & 4 are good for aid and the #5 & 6 can be solid (bomber?). Have taken free climbing falls on the #5 & 6.

The big question might be: if these are so awesome and popular, then how come Theron isn't punching them out right now? Is there a copyright/patent on them that would prevent him from doing so? Does the modern Pecker (and the various forms put out by Pika, etc.) already do the job?
What's the time span on these things? I have nothing solid to go on, but guessing they were a 70's sort of deal?

The Karabin Climbing Museum also is looking for a #1 Crack N Up. But no monies in the bank account to offer.
Crack N Up type hooks are still being made. They are called Moses Tomahawks!
Thats right!

Took a free climbing thirty footer onto a #3 which held or I wouldn't be typing this...

I can attest to Healy, he loves these things and regularly takes them on his rack. Have seen the CnUs in action complete with spectra runners on some of our vertical missions.
Will second that the new Tomahawks are the modern equivalent reborn and improved upon. I take these on free routes if I anticipate thin pro climbing.
