In The European Climbing Index (the opening post of this thread) you now find around 150 climbers. 120 of them have from one to four linked threads/articles. The last 30 will get links/entries later. Enjoy!

You have forgotten Layton Kor; after his epic on the Eiger with Chris Bonnington and John Harlin, how could he not be listed?

How about Arne Randers Heen for the Troll Wall?

I'm careful not to put too many Norwegians on the list. It's easy to end up with a nationalistically bent list. Arne Randers Heen could have been on the list. So could Cecilie Skog, Ralph Høibakk and Marius Morstad. And Odd Eliassen should have been there. I think I will put Odd on the list. And yes, Arne Randers Heen too... His collection is now part of "Norsk Tindemuseum".

Marius Morstad may be warranted as an addition simply because a bunch of us Californians (and presumably climbers from other US states) met him when he visited in the early 80s. I met him once or twice. Don't remember much other than that he was fit and talented.

I was unaware of his street cred as a trainer. In a quick Google search I found references to him by Dave MacLeod and others, but nothing by Marius specifically. Still curious!

In case you want to dive into European climbing history before it disappears from ST. Here's The European Climbing Index (at present climbers only).

Also add John Turner--born and started climbing in the UK and later returned there for the remainder of his life, though most of his better-known climbing was in North America.
