Me and Cleo rode part of the Flume Trail back in May. Seems like so long ago now that it's 100+ here in Sac

New Quick 5 Disc that I am in the process of setting up as a light tourer. If and when Vegas gets out of Hell mode, I might actually get to ride it.

Here is a recent shot of the wife and I - we had a chance to ride the I-11 bypass around Boulder City before it opened, so we jumped on the chance even with the high temps.

I'm on my Evo which used to belong to Lawson Craddock, who made quite a stir at the Tour this year - probably the most attention ever given a lanterne rouge!

Wife is on her Liv Langma, which was her bday present this year. She got really strong chasing me on a hybrid, and now I usually end up chasing her haha.

This was the top of a non-stop 6% grade up out of Lake Mead, which you can see in the background. Fun times!

RIP my favorite ride.

This was a custom frame, hand-built 38 years ago. I've put well over 100,000 miles on it, and reckoned it would be with me until the day I died. Which, 10 days ago, almost turned out to be true when I hit a concrete divider at high speed and cartwheeled way into the air and landed on my head.

Somehow, I survived (although it'll be a while before I'm fully healed), but, alas, the bike is toast. The wheel isn't even out of true, the forks and head tube appear to be undamaged, but the down tube is... well you can see in the top photo that it has an entirely new shape. Top tube as well, although the fold (a couple of inches from the head tube) isn't as obvious.

Bottom photo shows the divider I hit. I went completely airborne and cleared the divider by three or four feet.

Guess I'm in the market for a new road bike.

Bike at the Anthonys Nose Th yesterday. It's great living somewhere you can take the train to hikes.

HaHaHa! Fear not, they’ll be off tomorrow morning! I asked Mr Smartass if the rear reflector would keep a puma from jumping me.
He thought I was serious. 😳
