T Hocking: a green KZ 1000, circa late 70s? I had one of those. Riding it fast was like constantly free soloing 5.10. Wasn't going to end well...

Upgraded to this puppy in late July; Ibis Mojo 3 with 140mm of squish front and rear, Eagle 1x12 drivetrain, carbon wheels, dropper post and Onyx hubs. A much better fit overall than my previous 29er and more fun to ride :-) Now, just need to upgrade the engine and pilot ;-)

I opted this spring to go 27.5" for my FS.

After riding it a few months, I realized I don't like a single-chainring drivetrain. I now roll w/ 2 chainrings. I like big, immediate gear changes.

Randy- keep us posted on the 21 lb HT. I have a 29" Lynsky Ti HT and it is all I rode last year. I like the idea of giving it (and me) a Jenny Craig.

BNuts, very nice, and expecially the silent hubs that will last forever.

Sewellymon, you called me a Luddite. That's pretty f*#king funny, dad.

Brass, very cool Ibis. I like that it comes standard with Nobby Nics, my favorite tire.

Mike & Crager, what is with all that white stuff?

Jeff, you have to grab one of those rigs and come down to Laguna for the nice dirt, prime Fall weather today.

I've ridden 26" 3x's for 35 years. Started with '82 Stumpjumper. Finally went to wagon wheels (with 2.6) and 1x this year. Not looking back.

Mike - yes, really love the Onyx hubs. Instant non-clunk engagement, totally silent. Perhaps my favorite single component on the bike :-)

Cragar - cool, welcome to the Mojo 3 club! :-)

Nice bikes all! Think I'll head out for a ride right now, 60+ and sunny today :-)
Mike.

Damn, Stahl, you went big. Very nice 👍🏽

I think narrow-wide ring/clutch rear derailleur is the best things to happen to MTB in the last decade. Even without a pie plate in back...

BrassNuts, my gross materialism is flaring up, ease up... ; )

PS: Sorry, that's a Turner Czar. Frame probably from the same Asian factory as doughnutnational's.

Hey Mike,

What are you running up front? 26?

I want to convert my Seven Duo to 1x, but probably not Eagle.
Mike.

Yes, 26. It's a little rattly through the rough when not in granny, but way do-able for the "XC" bike it is. Neoprene slapsock helps.

Have fun converting the Seven. A cassette with a 40t (SunRace, OneUp) sounds ideal; could be the ticket on the Czar, but gotta use up this stuff, eh. I think of my buds on their singlespeeds and the gearing seems okay, heh : )
