I think you meant to post in the Word of the Month thread:

In any case, climbers are not special or unique compared to the rest of
society, and there is a spectrum here too. Just like many people like to
buy the "People" and "Us" magazines in the grocery checkout lines, we
have the climbing people versions of those things too.

Hagiography is inevitable. It's the pontification that gets a little heavy at times.

what Fossil ^ said, and in case the rest you don't know it, you all should bow down an genuflect when you say his name. And, he's moved nearer to enlightenment by living to Atlin.

said with love and respect ;-)

It turns out that the climbing world, a forum like SuperTopo, and life in general are simply a continuation of High School. There are the Jocks, the Cheerleaders, the Nerds, the Stoners, the Freaks, etc. Some of these social cliques will naturally receive more public attention and accolades than others. My biggest regret from my High School years is not realizing (at the time) that each one of these cliques are generally composed of caring, interesting, creative human beings who are worthwhile getting to know.

Almost anyone writing about Yosemite from an idealist's POV has to know it's not Eden, and that sinners live among saints, and saints are sinners, too.

Who, sir, are you to judge, for that's what your question implies.

Figgoff.

Another word for your dickshunary, Tami.

Crones don't really get their due in this world. We can change that, maybe.

RR, and it hurts me to say it, but I may have judged you wrong, considering some things about which I won't speak.

But don't slam the Tam. THAT was implied, and nasty.
