I have ridden bikes since my parents were gracious enough to get me a Schwinn Apple Crate bad ass bike

in my adult years i have Mountain biked all of California including Mammoth ,Tahoe, Catalina etc etc

Now I just dont like to pedal and especially not up hill

So I just purchased 2 of these at the early bird special of $499.

You do realize that the electro-magnetic field generated by that thing will make you sterile?

If you're old enough to need one of those things, what difference would that make?

I thought not.

Didn't you get the memo?
Former riders of the Apple Krate, etc. bikes were supposed to upgrade to the Schwinn Stingray Orange County Chopper! :-)
P.S. I didn't have a Apple Krate, etc. but took my friend's Sting Ray over a sweet jump we built. We only crashed and burned sometimes. :-)

All the bullies from Dupont Avenue had the Schwinn Sting Rays. You knew your ass was about to be kicked when those candy apple red's rolled up.
Still the best niche design ever for bikes--and the only people who get to vote on that have to be under 12 and understand that the best thing they'll ever ever own is their bike.
It's almost 6:45 A.M. I'm trying to swill down some spuds and eggs and then bust off to the local single track.

"Will it get you up the hill from Bishop after margaritas?"

No it wont Mr E... the Sherwin grade is quite a climb

But it will get me back and forth from Bishop to Keoughs
and no more wasting gas to go feed the horses twice a day

This is not replacing one of my bikes but one of my cars for small commutes

Yes that is the thing to point out also three hundred years of bike motorcycle hybrid vehicles
This Wave could and hopefully will catch on.
We see two here in a very hilly suburban area, heavy density, think layers on top of layers, extreme homes to studio condo complexes with thousands of units all in ten scare miles, food, groceries, everything
If the weather is dry a bike with bags can save $$ big,

Did 60 mi with 3800 ft of total up today on the bike. On one particularly long hill at about 20 miles in, an Asian gentleman on an Ebike passed me with a hearty "good morning".

I told him he was cheating.

Caught him on the next up hill and drooped him.

Those batteries have their limits. Keep the laws of physics in mind when it comes to up.

That's a lot of extra weight you have to pedal home when the well runs dry.

jeez its been about a decade since I met you and the lovely Dawn @ an early facelift

Hope everything is going your way

I'm not to worried about becoming sterile as the battery is locked in the rack , in the rear so to speak.

there aint no action goin on there so I got no worries

For paper routes, the weak link on the stingray was the handle bars…two bags worth of Herald Examiners put quite the strain on the ape hangers...
