An odd year, hmm? From now to the playoffs at the least they will be kicking some Dodger ass. What could possibly be more enjoyable?

Yeah, the G-men are getting hit hard by injuries early in the season. Just got my MLB online season pass so I can listen to games on the other side of the world.

Go Giants!

See apogee, the thing is that the Giants can't win all the games. They are just so good at winning the ones that matter.

Looking forward the the rivalry;)

Yeah, but the Padres?

OK...to be fair, the Dbacks trounced the Dodgers, too. So we'll just toss these games out as anomalies.

Yay....baseball is back!

G's starting rotation (Bum excluded) won't last half the season.

Already the injury report looks grim
Pence
Cain
Belt
McGehee
Ishikawa
Two or three more already banged up and tentative.

Not looking good yet they always seem to iron it out.
Especially when it counts.

NL West is stacked this year. I must say the Rockies, Padres, Dodgers and the Giants will be competing for a playoff spot. To be honest I am pretty skeptical the Giants are gonna make the playoffs this year. Lack of free-agency activity that would benefit the team does not inspire confidence. Other teams in the division are hungrier for success. But anything could happen. Maybe a few prospects will come through and rise to the challenge
Maybe some of the starting pitchers will be better than I expect. Last year I was skeptical they would make the playoffs for the same reasons. Bochy is a damn good Manager though, can't underestimate a team that was able to win a world series.
Hope Belt and Pence can get back to the line up soon. Pence is a great energizer for the team. I followed the giants since I moved to US in 2000, and like these teams that we had for the last few years the most. There is more team play with more people stepping in to make a difference. Loved the Kent, Bonds, Snow, Aurellia, Santiago era with Rodriguez and Nen in the pen, but there is something special about the team they have now, something in addition to success in the post season.

So, Vitya, what attracted you to baseball? Was it its remote similarity
to лапта́ or the public scratching and adjustment of private parts? I need
to find my picture of Vladimir Shataev swingin' for the fences in a game at

Vida Blue on the Giants? 6 years,

saw him play at the stick, sneaky move to first, 127 picks,
15 in 71, 14 in 80, pretty good for a lefty,

Meh...who cares, both the Giants and the Dodgers reside in the mediocre National League. Now the A's vs. the Angels.....that's interesting!

Funny. Sick and twisted, yes. But funny.

In Chicago as we speak, they're delirious with the Cubbies being 5-3. How sad.

Most players downplayed the significance of the season's initial meeting between the longtime antagonists. But, Lincecum said, "obviously, the rivalry's always going to be in the back of your mind."

Sweet to beat the Dodgers anytime.

Dodgers: After a couple of subpar outings to begin his season, ace Clayton Kershaw picked up his first win the last time out with 12 strikeouts over six innings in a win against Colorado. Now Kershaw is set to duel Giants southpaw Madison Bumgarner on Wednesday for the fourth time in their careers. In four starts against San Francisco last season, Kershaw went 3-0 with 1.69 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 32 innings.
Giants: What might get obscured in the glare of the Kershaw-Bumgarner matchup is that Bumgarner has thrived against the Dodgers. He owns an 11-5 record in 17 career games, including 16 starts, against San Francisco's archrivals. That includes a 4-2 mark with a 3.22 ERA in six outings at AT&T Park.

Man, I miss those days...crank at Pac Edge, then walk down the street to Seabright. Sigh.

Yes, hard to beat this setup. The score was still tied when we left, caught the rest on the radio.

Go Giants!
